This story portrays perfectly the way each character has grown and changed, and ultimately allows Brian to learn more about Michael and himself, and Michael to leave his childish dreams behind and figure out what he really wants. The really neat thing about this story is the way it is constructed. There is a core piece that is the introduction, and then the comments to that core are all variations and threads on what could spin off from that original piece, so make sure to read the comments as that's where the real story lies. So it's an alternate universe with alternate storylines and while some of the threads are very dark, I wouldn't call a single thread light. It is joyously intense.

It starts back in time, before Nick works at the Vegas crime lab—he's there for a seminar, Greg's there with college friends on vacation, and in spare, elegant prose, Cyne shows their paths crossing imperfectly time and time again, and finally leads us to the moment where we know that eventually, a relationship between them will begin.

Following them is definitely not a waste of time, it enriches the story immeasurably. The story is funny, it's witty, it's clearsighted. Lance is deligthfully snarky and arrogant in it and the spectacle of Chris dragging him kicking and screaming into a relationship form a major part of the plot of this epic tale.

A fun read that is engaging, the authors take you along for the ride from Seamus’ point of view.

One of the rare gems I’ve found on Fanfiction.net.

It’s a fullscale war and Sawyer has a pivotal part to play. Conmama (Sawyer/Claire) fans should particularly like this story, even though it’s not romantic. I love how Sawyer steps up here because we all know he has it in him, if given the chance.

Jmas also nail's early Daniel's innate curiousity that always and I do mean Always got him into trouble. I used this one for my H/C rec, but as with all fics this one is so much more than just an H/C story. It's also got some great humor and angsting as well as shows the deep respect the members of SG-1 have for thier resident trouble-magnet (that'd be Daniel).

Commanding Daniel is a halarious look at the way Col. O'Neill and the other two members of SG-1 see their wayward Archeologist. Daniel's Rebuttal is a wonderful peak into Daniel's fiesty, prickly nature. Daniel is an absolutely wonderful character, and these two fics, are fantasticly funny & give a great deal of insight into Daniel's personality, quirks and all.

** Note: I put it down under 44: Mask mainly because she's finally revealing the feelings she's been hiding for so long. But then again, if you think it could be placed somewhere better, by all means, comment and say something, because I sure as hell don't know. :D

What I love about this story so much is that it's so realistic: Ron & Hermione are very awkward in talking about their feelings, and they both stay in character (which is such a relief in Heron ficiton, I've found). If you're familiar with the author, you might recognize the cameo from Gwen, Hermione's diary, but if not, don't worry: you won't be lost.

Summary: A Post-Hogwarts fic. 7 years after graduation, Hermione has long ago distanced herself from her "dangerous, reckless" friends Ron & Harry. She has a steady Ministry cog boyfriend, a steady job as Arithmancy professor at Hogwarts, and an all-together peaceful life. This all changes when an unexpected appointment is made for the new DADA professor, and even more shocking as a crazed murderer makes his presence at Hogwarts known. Written pre-OOTP - let me tell you, the girl was on to some things, though. The mystery within the story is very well thought-out - her suspense style is similar to JKR's: if you're an avid Harry Potter reader, you'll probably figure out the ending, but if you don't know how to look for clues, she'll def. have you guessing until the last moment. Also a bit of a Heron fic, but I think the way Hermione & Ron get together reeeaaaalllyyyy slowly is very realistic - I can see Hermione struggling with the images she's seen over her school years & distancing herself from the boys once they started following different paths. I also think the author's characterization of a 24-year old Ron is right on point.

Brief summary: Like many Sheppard/Weir/McKay fics, this one is set in an apocalyptic AU where the worst has happened--in this case, Elizabeth, John and Rodney have been captured by the Genii with no hope of rescue and turn to each other for comfort and human contact. It's Weir-POV and one of the only stories in the genre where she really feels like the apex of the triangle/threesome, so it seemed the most appropriate choice for my claim even though there is a lot of other good S/W/M fic out there. :-) What I find especially poignant is how keenly you can feel Elizabeth's desperation as she feels everything she values slipping through her fingers but these two men.
