You can obviously tell I'm excited to get started... since I've nearly completed the whole task and we haven't even begun... but here is the first rec posting... and I promise I won't rec ALL 50 this morning! :) (There are still a few I haven't found yet! ;) )

Brief summary: Draco buys Ginny in a slave auction and decides to have his wicked way with her. (The author doesn't really care for this one... but it was BRILLIANT -- trust me! Draco is UBER-SWEET!)

Standing in a far-off corner of the hall, he watched as girl after snickering girl got auctioned off for a couple of sickles here and there, all in good fun and the greatest show of teenage sexual excitement since the Yule Ball was left unchaperoned for 10 minutes last year. He, however, had a loftier purpose today. As harmless as this little game here was, its potential to be something greatly more fun and sophisticated was immense. He couldn't believe the other males at this school hadn't thought of it. Something to do with morals, he expected. That old story again.

Well he fully intended to take advantage of this. A little bit of pocket change for a Malfoy and he could basically buy a woman for the night. God Dumbledore was a stupid git. The old man would do anything to raise a little money for... well Draco didn't know, but it was probably orphans, or someone equally unworthy of funds. The actual rues of this game were quite harmless. Girls went on stage. Stupid boys gave money to have them as their slaves until midnight, the whole thing bonded by a little magic. It was the little bit of magic, however, that Draco fully intended to take advantage of if.

Brief summary: Most Canon-like fic EVAH!!! Draco is perfectly in character YET still finds himself attracted to Ginny. The sequel is fabulous too, but can only be found at the Rising From the Ashes Yahoo group.

He watched the fire. He stared into the heart of it, the purple ripples of color that streaked along the wood, trying not to think about how the surrounding orange flames brought other things to mind. No. Fire burned. One did not reach out for fire, no matter how mesmerizing. But he watched.
Draco sat in silence, and watched the fire burn for a very long time.

BTW, are you reccing the story that your icon is taken from? Because that sounds adorable.

*giggles* I am going to be sure to pass on your comments to the maker of the icon liriehalliwell. She made a TON of icons for us Fire and Ice girls and made up all the quotes. She then asked us if we had particular favourites and she'd write a fic incorporating the quote.

So, the answer is no... there is no fic it's based on... yet! ;) She just made up the quote and then made the icon... the fic will come later... :)

Yep. Totally depressing, but the girls don't think they'll write any more of it (since new canon has made it completely obsolete) and since they are H/G shippers anyway. Make one quite bitter that they don't want anyone to write in their universe either... no continuations by anyone else either.
