Hello everyone! This is my last email before reccing starts, I promise. I have given everyone posting access, and reccing begins October 25th. Let's just say that if it is after midnight on October 25th wherever you're at, then you can start posting. Remember to read the FAQ if you haven't already, and let me or the other mods know any of the questions you may have.

Also, though posting has begun, you can still pick a fandom to rec for Round One until October 31st. After October 31st, every claim made will be for Round Two, beginning in December.

If you missed it, this is an example rec made by [livejournal.com profile] chickpea. Notice that she only has two recs in the post. Notice that she uses the pre-written tags for both the prompts she chose to rec and her fandom/specificity. Notice that the titleline of her post is only the name of the two stories, and does not include the prompt or author or fandom. These are all good things you should keep in mind. If you don't see a tag for your fandom, don't freak out. Let [livejournal.com profile] pluvial_poetry know about it, and we'll fix that right up. Feel free to post, and you can always go back and edit the tag in if it's not there.

Happy Reccing! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with!

Hey all! It's your friendly tags & memories moderator here. And this is going to be a quick post about tags.

It's going to be important once reccing begins that every post is tagged and tagged correctly to make it easier for our members to find what they are looking for.

What being tagged correctly will entail is that every post will be sorted by it's fandom claim and the prompt represented in the rec.

Example: If your claim is for Buffyverse Anya, and the stories recced are for prompt # 44, mask and prompt # 32, secrets; your tags should read as such.

tags- buffyverse: anya, prompt: mask, prompt: secrets.

We will be reminding people about tags as the process goes on, I'm sure. And if I've left a tag that you need off of the list of tags, please let me know so that I can correct the problem.

And if you have any immediate questions about tags, feel free to ask here and now. I'm here to help.

ETA:

Like "How do I use tags?"

Good question! There are 2 ways.

1. While in the update window where you are posting your recs, there is a grey box under the window with a variety of user options. The first one should be tags, and then mood, location, music, etc. If you type in the first letters of the tag you want to attach to your post, the tag should show up. If you're looking for a "Harry Potter" tag you would type in "Ha" and a Harry Potter tag will show up. If that's the wrong one, erase the part that's wrong and start to type in the right one. For example if you've typed in "Ha" and "Harry Potter: Charlie Weasley" comes up and you wanted "Harry Potter: Severus Snape", simply erase the Charlie Weasley and type in "Se" instead. There's your "Harry Potter: Severus Snape" tag. Then you do the same thing for your Prompt tags. And then once you hit update, your post will be added to the community with the proper tags already in place. Or-

2. To get tags on your entry you could first make your post, hit update. Then you come over to [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]'s recent entries page. And on your post, at the top, there should be buttons for

edit | tags | leave a comment

You hit the tags button, and a list of pre-made tags should come up. And then you choose the ones that you need from the list. The prompts of your recs, the fandom that you're reccing in. Save at the bottom of the page once you've highlighted the ones that you want. Make sense? I hope so.

Hi guys! Excited as hell for this thing. ^__^

My table of prompts, yo.

Claim: Harry Potter, Cho/Cedric
Title: "Remembrance"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] capitalflash
Characters: Cho, Cedric
Prompt: 20. Non-con.
Rating: R
Length: Drabble
Brief summary: You'd think that a drabble could easily stand alone here in the summary, but unfortunately, not here. This has to be the first (if not only) Cho/Cedric non-con fic where Mr. Good guy isn't...so..good. Behind the curtain, there's a boy (I wouldn't call him a man, he's being rather foolish in this one) who rapes his girlfriend. It's rather twisted if you're all for happy canon shipping, but I found it really refreshing.

Claim: Harry Potter, Cho/Cedric
Title: "Never Again"
Author: Allykat
Characters: Cho, Cedric
Prompt: 14. Loss.
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: I don't know if it was meant to be written like this, but I feel like she's being a completely sobby angsty emo teenage girl just reminiscing about her and dead!Cedric, feeling completely helpless and "Oh no, I will never love again! Woe!"-ing over him. She doesn't want to hurt again, therefore we see Cho completely closing herself up, in a way. Just the thought of what-might-have-been makes her miserable, and could possibly be how she felt pre-OOTP [Order of the Phoenix].

Hi, I'm Geekwriter and I'll be recommending stories about the other GeekLove, Nick and Greg from CSI. I'm thinking of this less as a challenge to myself to rec 50 stories and more as a chance to spread the Nick/Greg love. Because Nick and Greg are adorable, addictive, and impossible to resist. Those of us in the fandom pride ourselves on sucking other people in; we not only welcome newcomers to the fandom, we actively encourage and celebrate them, so if you're looking for a new fandom, read some of the stories I rec and see if it appeals to you. I hope it does. And if you're an old school Nick/Greg fan, you'll know a lot of these, but I hope to rec a few gems that not everyone has seen before.

Here's my table of prompts.

Claim: CSI, Nick/Greg
Title: The Kumquats
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lblikesbagels (aka Dr. FooFoo)
Characters: Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders, Sara Sidle
Prompt: Dream
Rating: NC-17
Length: short
Brief summary: I'm a sucker for stories where Sara, Nick, and Greg are friends. In this story, Sara and Greg are closer than Sara and Nick, but she still manages to convince Nick to come out with her to hear some bands play. Dr. FooFoo manages, in a story under 2000 words, to hit the characters spot on. Sara's intense even when she's having a good time, Greg's laid back and cooler than he's allowed to be in the lab, and Nick's sincere, likes Pat Benatar, and isn't quite sure about things like bands with tap dancers in them. Also, there are desperate gropes and breathless kisses and a blowjob in a bathroom stall.

Claim: CSI, Nick/Greg
Title: Rain
Author: [livejournal.com profile] natroga
Characters: Greg Sanders, Nick Stokes
Prompt: Light
Rating: PG
Length: short
Brief summary: Natroga is, unfortunately, often overlooked in the CSI fandom, though I don't know why. I'm a big fan of her writing, especially this story, which is a tiny but very sweet slice of the domestic side of Nick and Greg's life.
