Claim: X-men: Gambit
Title: The Betrayal Arc
Author: Valerie Jones at Valerie's Fiction Archive
Characters: Gambit, Witness, all X-men
Prompt: Redemption
Rating: R
Warnings: Angst, violence
Length: Epic
Brief summary: The author's take on the traitor storyline (prior to Onslaught). I wanted to rec Gambit stories for this story. It's probably one of the best stories I've ever read in any fandom. It is extremely well thought out and just baffles my mind each and every time I read it. Paradox Law contains a lot of angst and loss and is one of my favorite parts to read. It's an older story so people new to the fandom NEED to read it - you will NOT be disappointed.

I've been trying to rec one Mal/Inara fic and one Inara only or other pairing fic in each post, since so many of the Inara-centric fics are Mal/Inara. I'm reccing two M/I fics in this post, though, because they're both on a similar theme and I really wanted to rec them together :) They're both based around a deleted scene from Serenity which can be found in the Visual Companion :D

Claim: Firefly: Inara Serra
Title: A Figure of Great Romance
Author: Rach ([livejournal.com profile] naughtyelf) [Yep, me ... I've already rec'd 12 others now so I think it should be okay!]
Characters: Inara, Sheydra, Mal (in a sense), companion girls
Prompt: 17. Jealous
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: I'm really proud of this story, and while it *is* Mal/Inara, its more about Inara than the couple. I'm putting it under the 'jealousy' prompt because Inara is jealous of the imaginary version of herself that the girls have cooked up. :)

Title: Pirate Tale
Author: [livejournal.com profile] homespunfic
Characters: Inara, Mal, the Operative
Prompt: 24. Future!Fic
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: I love the way this retells one of my absolute favourite scenes in the movie, the Inara voice is perfect, as is the bante rbetween the two of them! It's just wonderful, especially for a first fic in the fandom!

Author: ladyjax ([livejournal.com profile] ladyjax)
Characters: Second season team: Teyla/McKay, Ronon/Sheppard
Prompt: 13 - Established Relationship
Rating: PG-13
Length: Short
Brief summary: This is a future fic where Sheppard's team is on the run and the only thing they have left is each other. I really like how the author makes the love between all of them very clear, without being explicit.

Table of Harry/Ginny recs

Claim: Harry Potter, Harry/Ginny
Prompt: Hurt/Comfort
Title: Selling Secrets
Author: [livejournal.com profile] setissma
Characters: Harry, Ginny
Rating: R
Length: short
Brief summary: He does not know she is there, of course. Lately, she cannot sleep without him. Really, though, it’s not that she can’t sleep without Harry, it’s that she can’t sleep without The Boy Who Lived.
A really fabulous fic, sexy and a little dark. Highly recommended.

Claim: Harry Potter, Harry/Ginny

Title: Knockers
Author: Ms. Scribe
Characters: Harry, Ginny
Rating: R
Length: short
Brief summary: Ginny Weasley has to learn how to put up with a couple of boobs, and we aren’t talking about Harry and Ron.
A very funny tongue-in-cheek fic, this nails the "suddenly Ginny is gorgeous and Harry is amazed" cliche. Seriously, if I had a nickel for every fic that features Ginny in an old, now-too-tight sundress...? Well, I'd have a lot of nickels.

Claim: Good Omens, General Series
Title: "Seaside"
Author: Adrienne, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale, Pepper, Adam
Prompt: 34. Vacation.
Rating: R
Length: epic
Brief summary: I can tell I'm going to be saying this a lot, considering the sheer number of Adrienne's works that I'm going to be reccing. But I love the way she writes "Good Omens". By far my favorite "Good Omens" fic writer. And this piece is a classic. Can you imagine Crowley and Aziraphale on a beach? Neither could I, but it works! Very in character, very funny, very sweet.

Title: "A Local Habitation"
Author: Adrienne, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale
Prompt: 44. Mask.
Rating: PG-13
Length: long
Brief summary: Another story by Adrienne. You see, it's a trend. This one is fairly new, but it knocked me flat right away. It's hard to find "Good Omens" fic that has Crowley and Aziraphale together pre-series. And I can see why that is, but it makes so much sense in this fic. It's a trip through the ages, and it's so spot on with so many small details. The dialogue is fantastic and it's just such a great idea. Loved it.

Claim: "Without a Trace," Jack/Samantha
Title: Not Far Enough
Author: Devanie Maxwell
Characters: Jack Malone, Samantha Spade, Danny Taylor, Martin Fitzgerald and introducing original character, Melissa Armstrong. Cameos by Paula Van Doren, and original character Deputy Director Alan Cameron.
Prompt: 41. Redemption.
Rating: PG-13.
Length: Long.

Brief summary: This story looks at just how easy it is to fall into old patterns, even in new settings. When Samantha is transferred to Washington D.C., she and Jack then begin a long-distance affair, as if nothing has changed. It is only when she is offered an even better job even further away that she and Jack both realize just how much they've fallen back into old habits, and how much has to change. The author shifts flawlessly from UST back to RST, and treats each chapter as a little window into both Samantha and Jack's new lives -- both together and apart, and how they intersect. It's an incredibly satisfying love story that sees the characters' flaws as a reason why they should, as opposed to should not, be together.

Claim: Veronica Mars: Veronica/Duncan/Logan
Title: "Unique Forms of Continuity in Space"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] morbidmuse
Characters: Veronica (POV), Duncan, Logan, and mentions of other characters.
Prompt: 35. Threesome.
Rating: R
Length: medium

Brief summary:
This story combines beautifully elements from different genres (it has angst, fluff, slash, sex, character study, etc) together creating that way a very vivid and layered illustration of Veronica/Duncan/Logan threesome. Also one has to read this story just to see how ice cream choice can tell about characters and relationship.

Title: "Breaking Points"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] addictedtojoy
Characters: Veronica (POV), Duncan, Logan, and some brief mentions of other characters.
Prompt: 11. Character Study.
Rating: PG
Length: medium

Brief summary:  A great character study of Veronica, Duncan and Logan as well as a character study of Veronica/Duncan/Logan relationship. I'm reccing this because this story succeeds to tell about characters with only 797 words more than most 2000 words long fictions ever have.

BIG DAMN TABLE.

Claim: X-Men Movieverse, Rogue
Title: A Point Just Passed
Author: Marguerite at Gray Area.
Characters: Wolverine, Rogue
Prompt: 11. Character Study
Rating: R
Length: medium to longish
Brief summary: This is a character study of sorts, where Wolverine reflects on what Rogue means to him. I like stories where Wolverine figures out that he loves Rogue, and this one is all poetic and shit in its description. Plus, I love the analogies that Wolverine uses to describe Rogue -- very much in character and relatable.

Title: For Now (The Fuck Waiting Remix)
Author: Katherine at Skin Deep and [livejournal.com profile] misskatherine.
Characters: Wolverine, Rogue
Prompt: 13. Established Relationship
Rating: PG-13
Length: long to very long
Brief summary: This story, remixed to be from Logan's POV, is the story that sucked me into the fandom and made me completely, head-over-heels fall in love with Wolverine/Rogue as a pairing. The basic gist is that Rogue grows up while Logan waits patiently, but this story is really about how their established relationship (especially the non-romantic portions) evolves as they grow and mature. You can also read the original story (the link is on the story page), and go back and forth between POVs -- it's an amazingly complete view of the story. At its core, this is a love story about a love that completes, transforms, and ultimately saves Rogue from herself.

The Sentinel-Jim/Blair
Title: Four Letter Words
Author:Julad
Characters:Jim/Blair
Prompt:025-Kink
Rating:R
Length:Medium
Why this must be read It's Angry, and humourous and violent, and a first time story on top of it. I picked this for kink, because the one Jim experiences isn't among the more commonly seen ones in fanfic and I *cough* happen to have it a little myself. This story also must win at using a certain four letter word more times than anything outside of porno.

The Sentinel-Jim/Blair
Title:Einstein's Folly 2
Author:Laura Jaquez Valentine
Characters:Blair, Spock, others
Prompt:015-Crackfic
Rating:PG-13
Length:Short
Why this must be read There is actually not a lot of crack-fic in the Sentinel fandom. What there is though is very good. This series is a prime example. I picked part 2 because it is a little more cracked out than part one, and the series progresses that way.
Blair and multiple other *side kick* and *geek* characters meet at a bar called Einstein's Folly for drinks and discussions about their lives. No pretty boys allowed!

The Sentinel-Jim/Blair
Title: Island of the Apples
Author:Blue Wolf
Characters:Jim/Blair
Prompt:026-Death
Rating:G
Length:Short
Why this must be read Normally I run screaming from death fics, no matter how good. I stumbled across this in a zine the first time, and it enthralled me. I didn't realize it was a death fic at first, and by the time I did, I was swept up in the poetic longing of the fic. This is not a sad or mournful fic, but rather a poignant, moving work, with a lovely, resonant end. It's quiet simply beautiful.

Title: Reset
Author:Legion

Rating:R
Length:Epic
Why this must be read Legion is one of those authors that I could have filled the entire table with.
All of her stuff holds a place in my heart. Particularly because often, her Jim and Blair are heroes in the best definition of the word. This is one of her a/us, a fabulous, fantastical journey for Jim and Blair, back in time, to try and right something that has gone wrong.

Claim:NSYNC: Justin/JC
Title:A Little Uncomplicated Hymn
Author:[livejournal.com profile] jae_w
Characters: Justin, JC with a bit of Lance, Joey and Chris
Prompt: 40. Confession
Rating:NC-17
Length: medium
Brief summary: The end of the final tour coming and JC wants write a song for each of the guys before the end. But he gets stuck on Justin, he needs something more to write the song he is feeling. When he gets what he needs from Justin , JC still can't quite figure it out. This story is beautiful and sad, and full of all kinds of confessions. Some of which come a little too late.

Author:[livejournal.com profile] sarahq

Prompt: 19. Dark
Rating:NC-17

Brief summary: Justin isn't sleeping on the tour bus and JC wants to know why. He checks on him one night and discovers that the back wall of Justin's bunk is missing. JC follows Justin into a world of darkness and dancing where Justin is unaware of anything except the beat of the club. JC tries everything to keep Justin from disappearing at night, but nothing seems to work. This story is dark at times, but also had a good bit humorous group dialog. Great combination.

Author: Troll Princess at [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess.
Characters: Rogue/Bobby and assorted other X-Men.
Prompt: 15. Crack!Fic
Rating: PG-13
Length: long
Brief summary: I should probably tell you right now that it's an mpreg. I won't lie, I love mpregs and find them absolutely hilarious (when your first fandom is popslash, nothing fazes you afterwards, and you have a strange penchant for AUs and crackfic). Bobby's bewildered confusion about being pregnant, as well as the explanation behind it, are both priceless. This fic is sweet, funny, well-written, and throws in a Smallville reference -- what else could you want?

Title: Catch and release

Author: Torch ([livejournal.com profile] flambeau and at the flambeau factory)
Characters: JC Chasez, Justin Timberlake
Prompt: 13. Established relationship
Rating: NC-17
Length: short (913 words)
Summary: JC and Justin go to a barbecue at Chris' house and do not have sex – but they would, if JC wanted them to. This is definitely not torch's most recced JC, but JC is often deliciously written as in control, especially in a JC/Justin story, and this is one of the finest, most acute examples of JC's mastery over his and Justin's relationship. He's not negatively domineering; he's just JC and he. is. in. control. And it's ungodly hot.

Characters: JC Chasez, Chris Kirkpatrick, Lance Bass, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Nick Carter, etc.
Prompt: 2. AU
Rating: mostly PG-13, at times NC-17
Length: epic (11 chapters)
Summary: Ah, bitchy!barista!JC, the quintessential JC AU. JC is a – wait for it – a bitchy barista who hooks up with quirky Chris the office worker while crushing on Chris' co-worker Lance, and it sort of turns out to be love, sort of. Joey is JC's roommate and Justin is JC's friend turned Chris' roommate, and all sorts of random things happen, like lots of sex, and STD testing, and dinner parties and Halloween parties and New Years parties, and the way JC and Chris' relationship unfolds is the most entertaining and heartwrenching thing. I've never pulled so hard for someone so gorgeously, frivolously careless as JC in this story. And they go to a dildo party.

Title: Unaffected
Author: [livejournal.com profile] cliodnahpfan
Characters: Basically everyone in Potterverse
Prompt: Denial
Rating: NC17 after chapter 17
Length: epic
Brief summary: It’s been six years since Ginny left Hogwarts, and two years since the defeat of the Dark Lord. War has taken its toll on everyone, and even though everyone has tried to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives and move on, many are still in denial and shock. Ginny’s profession demands that she must remain unaffected, so that she may help anyone else in need. But what happens when the least likely of all people turns to her for help? Okay... why did I love this story? Ginny just seems SO dense and that in itself is funny when yo look at her job. And then Draco... well... he is SO sweet -- poetry reading! AGHGH! But... why did I pick it for denial? Ginny is in TOTAL denial until the very end!
