Brief summary: Crossover with Star Trek: Voyager: compares and contrasts Weir and Janeway's very different ways of handling very similar leadership roles using a one night stand between them as a focal point. I don't slash Weir, and I kinda lost track of Voyager halfway through its second season, but I love the character study here, the contrast between Weir's warmth and openness with her command crew and Janeway's deliberate self-isolation. Also, the story uses a narrative device that might be confusing at first, but once it unfolds it's incredibly cool. :-)

The summary is simply "Samantha disappears," because long before this subject was tackled by many authors of many 'ship persuasions, this was an original idea. The story traces Jack's frustration, desperation and despair, starting with an eerily beautiful first chapter, which perfectly sets up the events to follow. Even two years later, it still reads like an original idea.
