(Brief) Summary:
The Dominion threatens Rhazaghan. To help the Rhazaghanians the Romulans who are allies of the Federation at that time send a Warbird to bring some troops to Rhazaghan. There Commander Talan and his regiment shall learn to handle 'Sternschwingen' the ships of the Rhazaghanians. Unfortunately it's too late when the Rhazaghanians realize that there's someone amongst the Romulans who's on the evil side.

(Kurze) Zusammenfassung:
Rhazaghan wird vom Dominion bedroht. Zum Schutz entsenden die mit der Föderation verbündeten Romulaner einen Warbird, um Truppen nach Rhazaghan zu transportieren. Dort sollen Kommandant Talan und seine Leute mit den rhazaghanischen Sternschwingen vertraut gemacht werden. Zu spät stellt sich heraus, daß sich eine Person unter ihnen befindet, die Übles im Schilde führt.

Why this story must be read:
Gunni's stories are a class of its own. Everything in her stories just is right. You should start reading with Neutrale Zone (Neutral Zone) not with Rhazaghan though. Why I recommend Rhazaghan instead of Neutrale Zone? The prompt is original character and my favorites are Tarkin and Arrhinia D'Jah. Both are central characters in Rhazaghan but not in Neutrale Zone where they both have minor parts so this rec is Rhazaghan.
All of Gunnis characters are 3-dimensional and there's much character development.
Tarkin is a clan leader, charismatic, audacious, straightforward and sometimes really stubborn. He's a hunter with all his heart.
Arrhinia D'Jah is a Sternschwinge. Sternschwingen are artificial intelligences and develop their programs through their experience (just a little like holodoc). Arrhinia D'Jah is the oldest Sternschwinge and thus has a special position and an already very developed personality. *g*
I must amit there are two snags in Gunni's stories: while reading the stories you won't get much sleep (because you just can't stop reading) and the stories are much too short.

Warum man diese Story unbedingt lesen sollte:
Gunni schreibt wirklich in einer Klasse für sich. In diesen Geschichten stimmt einfach alles. Anfangen mit Lesen sollte man jedoch nicht mit Rhazaghan, sondern mit Neutrale Zone. Warum ich an dieser Stelle Rhazaghan empfehle und nicht Neutrale Zone? Das Thema heißt Original Character und meine Lieblingscharaktere bei Gunni sind Tarkin und Arrhinia D'Jah. Da die beiden in Rhazaghan im Mittelpunkt der Geschichte stehen und in Neutrale Zone noch eher Randfiguren sind, habe ich mich hier für Rhazaghan entschieden.
Gunnis sämtliche Charaktere sind 3-dimensional und die Charakterentwicklung kommt nicht zu kurz.
Tarkin ist ein Clanführer, charismatisch, kühn, ehrlich und manchmal ziemlich stur. Er ist Jäger mit Leib und Seele.
Die Arrhinia D'Jah ist eine Sternschwinge. Sternschwingen sind künstliche Intelligenzen und entwickeln sich durch ihre Erfahrungen weiter (ein bißchen wie der Holodoc). Die Arrhinia D'Jah nimmt hier als erste Sternschwinge eine Ausnahmesituation ein und hat schon einen sehr ausgeprägten Charakter. *g*
Gunnis Storys haben allerdings zwei Haken, die ich Euch nicht verschweigen möchte: während Ihr die Storys lest, bekommt Ihr nicht viel Schlaf (denn man kann einfach nicht mit Lesen aufhören) und sie sind einfach viel zu kurz.

Taking this classic idea and applying it to these characters makes it even more emotional, given their impossible relationship situation. A lovely fic.

Brief summary: I figured I'd use my one WIP pick on the one story where I'd love to know the ending. It's a fabulous concept (and less common than you'd think): Jack's daughter is kidnapped, and Samantha heads up the team assigned to find her. It's fascinating to watch Jack in purely the role of a victim's parent -- see how he wants to get involved, but can't because he's too close. With Samantha taking charge of the case, the two find themselves in very different roles -- and it's wonderful to see them interact with each other and to the circumstances surrounding them.

Daniel/Sha're is the most cannon of all ships in the SG-1 fandom (in my not so humble opinion), but theirs is a tragic tale and I wanted a happy ending! Meg gave me one that was quite plausible and she did it with her usual aplomb. Angst, humor, romance, it's all here for your enjoyment.
