Die Ereignisse auf Cardassia sind nicht ohne Folgen geblieben; bei der Jägerin Aryshtin finden sonderbare Wesensveränderungen statt. Als eine rhazaghanische Delegation die Erde besucht, nutzt sie dort die Gelegenheit, bricht aus der Gemeinschaft aus und begibt sich alleine auf eine Reise mit sehr persönlichem Hintergrund. Ihr Ziel: Risa. Allerdings bleibt sie nicht die einzige, die von der Not dorthin getrieben wird.
