Title: Connection Series
Author: Te ([livejournal.com profile] thete1)
Characters: Tim Drake, Kon-El
Prompt: 07. Love
Rating: Adult
Length: Epic
Brief summary: What started as a joke ends up being very serious, indeed. Tim and Kon are desperate for each other, can't get enough, but it's so much more than sex. Tim lets himself go, and Kon finds he wants to be the one to catch him.

Title: Memorable
Author: nw's chick ([livejournal.com profile] trixie_chick)
Characters: Tim Drake, Connor Hawke
Prompt: 01. First Time
Rating: Teen
Length: Short
Brief summary: Poor Tim. His first time should be memorable, but not for these reasons. Luckily Connor, like the rest of us, can't help but love him. Stories like this usually hit my embarrassment squick, but this one ends up being cute, sweet, and funny.

Title: "Baby Snakes"
Author: Louise Lux, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale
Prompt: 36. Family.
Rating: PG-13
Length: medium
Brief summary: This story is so wrong for me that it's right. Crowley starts a family, not in the usual way. Too funny and slightly crazy. But good.

Title: "Unseen"
Author: Adrienne, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Characters: Anathema, Newt, Adam, Brian, Pepper, Wensleydale, Crowley, Aziraphale, etc.
Prompt: 48. Reccer's Choice.
Rating: PG-13
Length: medium
Brief summary: Everyone's sick. Pretty much literally everyone. Which is the reason why I recced this fic. It isn't often that you get this full of a representation of the cast of characters from the novel in a fic. So I loved that. And it's all very sweet, with everyone being taken care of by their friends.

Title: Heart, Humble
Author: Betty ([livejournal.com profile] brown_betty)
Characters: Tim Drake, Jack Drake
Prompt: 36. Family
Rating: Teen
Length: medium
Brief summary: Jack Drake comes to terms with his son's. . . extracurricular activities, as they slowly learn how to be a family. Poignant and just a little painful.

Title: Can't Just Watch Forever
Author: Petra ([livejournal.com profile] petronelle)
Characters: Tim Drake, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd
Prompt: 20. Non-con
Rating: Adult
Length: medium
Brief summary: This story isn't non-con in the sense of someone being coerced into having sex against his will, but rather that of someone losing control of his body, and then having sex. Jason may be dead, but he still likes to make his presence known now and again. As a result, Tim and Dick have a lovely, *hot* little liaison in the Batcave.

Claim: Stargate: Atlantis - John Sheppard
Title: The Taste of Apples
Author: Auburn, aka [livejournal.com profile] auburnnothenna
Characters: John, Rodney, Teyla, Ford (also Elizabeth Weir, Carson Beckett).
Prompt: 14. Loss.
Rating: PG-13.
Length: epic (32,000 words)
Brief summary: The premise of this story is incredibly cool—in a horrifying, creepy kind of way. I don't want to give too much away, but it involves a kind of mind meld among the team. And John's a very private person, but it isn't the loss of privacy that breaks me into a million pieces (or the past losses that come to light)—it's that everything this story gives, this story takes away.

Title: Sacrificial Drift

Characters: John, Rodney, Teyla, Ford, Bates.
Prompt: 29. Weapons.
Rating: NC-17.
Length: epic (33,000 words)
Brief summary: (Sequel to The Taste of Apples; things make more sense if you read that first.) All that control John is so determined to keep, all those walls he's put up—this is what's behind them; this is what he was always afraid would come out.

Claim: "Without a Trace," Jack/Samantha
Title: Cocytus
Author: Anya
Characters: Samantha Spade, Jack Malone. Allusions to Martin Fitzgerald.
Prompt: 23. Time.
Rating: R.
Length: Medium.

Brief summary: There's such a rhythm and grace to the style in this story -- which details Samantha's overwhelming apathy for living, and leaving, her job and life in New York. It feels like Samantha's slow death -- her unhappiness and dissatisfaction with all aspects of her life. Following the character through this journey is a painful, wonderfully angsty experience, and through Samantha's actions -- from leaving her job to crashing her car to sleeping with Jack again -- the author details the depths of the character's despair.

Claim: Lost, Sawyer
Title: "Simple Man"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] khohen1
Characters: Sawyer, Charlie
Prompt: 36, Family
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: Sawyer comes across Charlie playing a Lynyrd Skynyrd song on his guitar that brings up memories of his mother. A sweet, unexpected encounter between these two characters and a very poignant piece about regret and what Sawyer has lost. It doesn't matter whether you're familar with the song, the story still packs a punch.

Title: "Sport of Kings"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] khohen1
Characters: Sawyer, Hurley
Prompt: 4, Fluff
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: I had the hardest time finding a good Sawyer fluff story to rec! Sawyer and fluff just don't go together very well. But this one is great. On the show, Sawyer and Hurley don't get many occasions to interact, but this fic builds nicely on the jokey, borderline insulting banter they had when Hurley asked him for the manifest. Here, they play cards and argue and give every appearance of actually being friends.

Title: "Some Strange Race"
Author: Sam, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale
Prompt: 10. Fandom Cliche.
Rating: R
Length: long
Brief summary: Of course in a fandom about demons and angels you have to expect certain cliches. Wing fic and the falling from grace stories are inevitable. What's good about this fic, although technically still cliched, as that it gives a new twist on these old themes. It has really great ideas about temptation, love and evolution. This fic was one of the first ones I read in this fandom. And I loved it.

Title: "Navigation"
Author: Jo, [Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]
Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale
Prompt: 42. Holiday.
Rating: R
Length: long
Brief summary: The days before Christmas as, in the author's words, "Crowley is perfectly obvious (but doesn't know it), and Aziraphale does something about it." Holiday stories occasionally tend to be a bit over-sweetened. But this one treads the line nicely which is probably why I liked it so much.

Claim: The OC, Seth/Ryan
Title: Truth or Dare
Author: [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra
Characters: Ryan/Seth
Prompt: Fandom Cliche
Rating: NC-17
Length: Long
Brief summary: This was the hardest prompt *ever*. I asked my flist for some ideas for The OC fandom cliches, and I chose Truth or Dare for two reasons. One, because *every* fandom needs a good drinking game fic. And two, because a cliche in The OC fandom is Summer being fascinated with Seth/Ryan. (Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] somethin_random for that one!)

This fic has both and it is absolutely *brilliant*. Seth, Ryan, Anna, Summer, and Marissa are all playing truth or dare. It's witty and clever, and so very hot in parts and just fun and cute in others. [livejournal.com profile] lalejandra has a great feel for the characters, and Ryan is wearing an untied tie around his neck and they're drinking whiskey and vodka and stuff and it's just *brilliant*.

Excerpts behind the cut. )

Title: Why Seth Cohen Was Not Meant To Have A Roommate, or Four Little Ways To Drive Seth Crazy
Author: [livejournal.com profile] somethin_random
Characters: Seth/Ryan
Prompt: Future Fic
Rating: PG
Length: Medium
Brief summary: So this is one of my absolute favorites ever, hands down. As [livejournal.com profile] somethin_random says, it's more about the subtext than the text, but it's the absolute perfect amount of subtext. Seth is all boycrushy about Ryan, only now they're in college and separate and Seth has a roommate, and I absolutely love him...Seth, I mean, though the roommate is wonderfully developed and I also love him. He's exactly like a college roommate - he's not *annoying*, really, but he has little quirks that annoy Seth. It's very believable, and I love how Seth doesn't really give up, he just kind of misses Ryan a lot and tries to make it work. It's a great snapshot into college!Seth and college!Ryan. Excerpts. )

Claim: CSI, Nick/Greg
Title: Inventing Games Out of Everything
Author: [livejournal.com profile] shrift
Characters: Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders, Sara Sidle
Prompt: Fandom Cliché (my very favorite N/G cliché, in fact, the one where a game of Name That Chemical Compound turns out to have the best ending ever)
Rating: PG-13
Length: short
Brief summary: Have you ever found out that one of your favorite writers in one fandom wrote a story in another fandom that you didn't know they were even interested in? Have you ever then squealed with fannish glee? I have, because Shrift wrote this story. It's totally worth the glee and, more importantly for you, it's a game of Name That Chemical Compound, and who doesn't love that? Plus Sara's in it being very Sara-like and Greg's all cute and secretly in love with Nick and resenting the lab and…just go read it. Would I steer you wrong?

Title: No Great Cathedral
Author: [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane
Characters: Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders
Prompt: AU
Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Brief summary: Hmmm, is this AU or is this something that really happened before the series began? Caroline's AU's are so delicious that you, really, really want them to be something that happened pre-canon, this one in particular. Nick's a beat cop in Dallas, Greg's a college student there for a chemistry conference, there's a murder, and, oh, this story not only has some of the hottest sex ever written, it's also got a fantastically satisfying ending.

Title: Torchlight on Red Faces
Author: [livejournal.com profile] carolinecrane
Characters: Nick Stokes, Greg Sanders
Prompt: Dark
Rating: R
Length: short
Brief summary: It's short and there's no sex, but that doesn't change the fact that this is one of the hottest Nick/Greg stories ever written. Greg follows Nick and a woman through a casino, but he's not a stalker. Really.
