Claim: Lost, Sawyer
Title: "Getting By"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] holycitygirl
Characters: Sawyer, Jack
Prompt: 8, Friendship
Rating: G
Length: Short
Brief summary: A recovering Sawyer is cranky and bored in the hatch, so Jack takes it upon himself to read to him from the library. Short and wonderfully sweet, with just enough of their usual snark to keep things from getting too sweet.

Title: "Sunbathing"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] eponine119
Characters: Sawyer, Jack, Shannon, Hurley, Kate
Prompt: 12, Humor
Rating: PG
Length:Medium
Brief summary: Sawyer decides it's too hot to wear clothes anymore, but he'd never predict the reactions of the other castaways. Very funny story with a perfectly grumpy Sawyer and a nice, understated undercurrent of Jack/Sawyer sexual tension.

Title: Same Thing We Do Every Night...
Author: Little Red
Characters: Elizabeth Weir, John Sheppard, mentions of others
Prompt: 04. Fluff
Length: longish one-parter
Brief summary: A cute little slice-of-life vignette complete with playful confessions of love, comparisons to cartoon characters, Sheppard's hair and Elizabeth having him completely wrapped around her little finger.

Claim: "Without a Trace," Jack/Samantha
Title: Immaterial
Author: Anya
Characters: Samantha Spade. Allusions to Jack Malone and Martin Fitzgerald.
Prompt: 14. Loss.
Rating: R.
Length: Short.

Brief summary: An extremely moving look at Samantha's future -- unhappily married to Martin in suburbia, having just heard of Jack's recent passing. Somehow, the idea of Samantha closed in the car as she reads the obituary (and remembers "happier" times) is a perfect metaphor to how closed-in her life has become. Beautifully written, without really taking a 'ship side -- the author feels mostly for Samantha, as do we.

Claim: Stargate Atlantis: Teyla
Title: The Taste of Apples
Author: auburn([livejournal.com profile] auburnnothenna)
Characters: John Sheppard, Rodney McKay, Teyla Emmagen, Aiden Ford, Elizabeth Weir, Carson Beckett, Sgt. Bates, Radek Zelenka
Prompt: 30 - Seduction
Rating: Mature
Length: epic
Brief summary: Seduction. Destruction. They sound very similar, don't they? In this novel-length story, Sheppard's team encounters an insidious grey mold that warps and changes them, blending them together and seducing them away from Atlantis. The edges of self are filed away, and eventually their bodies will go with it, no matter how desperate the rest of Atlantis is to save them. This is primarily a team story, told from John's POV, but it is interesting to see what happens to Teyla too.

Just an excellent drama, complete with personality destruction.

Title: Alternative Lifestyles
Author: Apathy
Characters: John
Prompt: #11, Character Study
Rating: NC-17
Length: Medium
Brief summary: A Five Things fic for John. The "Happily Ever After" snippet is a fun play on expectations. "Inconceivable" might take a rereading to understand, but scrambled my head in a pleasant way. "Vice," the last snippet, shook and creeped me out. All of the scenarios are smart snapshots of what-could-have-beens, where you can pinpoint how it splits off from canon -- the best kind of AU.

Title: Bad Reputation
Author: Huzzlewhat
Characters: John and the crew
Prompt: #12, Humor
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: John Crichton's reputation ruins the crew's beer time when a massive thing challenges John to a duel. The banter and exasperation of the crew are completely in character. Easily could have happened on the show (and sort of did later in the series).

Author: Shaye
Characters: Alex (John's psychiatrist ex in the premiere), John mention
Prompt: #13, Established Relationship
Rating: R
Length: Medium
Brief summary: This explores Alex's reaction to John if she saw him on the television during Terra Firma. It's in keeping with what little we saw of her in the premiere. This is interesting POV -- an outsider, but one with some familiarity toward John.

Title: A Spot in the Sun
Author: CrystalMoon
Characters: John, Aeryn

Brief summary: A post-Fractures story. Aeryn buries John's notebook. John deals with Aeryn's grief and grieves for himself a little too. Subtle and sad.

Characters: John, D'Argo, others, the spirity essence of crack
Prompt: #15, Crack!fic
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: This is a Farscape crossover with BSG and two other surprise fandoms; you need only a passing familiarity with the other fandoms. John and D'Argo, while being chased by Cylons, accidentally wind up on Earth. Amazingly, everyone's in character. This is brilliant and high-larious and should not work, but scarily does -- or maybe it only works because the story broke my brain. Either way, read it.

Title: Res-Q
Author: AstroGirl
Characters: John, Aeryn, Q (Fandom: STG:TNG), D'Argo
Prompt: #16, Teamwork
Rating: PG
Length: Long
Brief summary: I was very close to reccing this under crack!fic since it also really shouldn't work. Q, one of the masters of the Star Trek universe, finds another human worth toying with. He sends Aeryn into the Star Trek: TNG universe and tells John to go fetch. Funny and plotty, with a resigned Farscape crew fixing another frelled situation.

Brief summary: A Farscape tale whittled down and told backwards. This is a dense text that uses gorgeous, concise prose to tell a story about wormholes, John and Aeryn's distance, and John's fading empathy.

Brief summary: I like the author's summary: "Harvey offers a little 'Vulcan Plomeek Soup for the Soul'." John deals with Grayza while Harvey tries to distract him with running commentary and a cheer routine. This is wrong and funny yet still heartbreaking look at John during What Was Lost. If nothing else, read it for Harvey in a Dolly Parton wig.
