Beautifully written, without really taking a 'ship side -- the author feels mostly for Samantha, as do we.

The edges of self are filed away, and eventually their bodies will go with it, no matter how desperate the rest of Atlantis is to save them. This is primarily a team story, told from John's POV, but it is interesting to see what happens to Teyla too.

Just an excellent drama, complete with personality destruction.
