Summary: The sequel to a ficlet called "You're Dead." Deals mainly with Hermione trying to figure out how to adjust, as well as comfort her friends, after Sirius's death. I know it must seem like a cop-out to use a story w/ "death" in the title for the death prompt, but I thought this story fit perfectly, with Hermione questioning things like fate, the afterlife, etc. I love the way it depicts as Hermione having a mental "plan" & "outline" on how life is supposed to go, just like a Transfiguration essay. With Sirius gone, she realizes this isn't true, and struggles with how to approach thing. A slight Heron tinge to it, although their relationship is centered around Hermione being unsure on how exactly to approach/comfort Ron after Sirius's death. A real sense of pain & loss in the writing: you can feel the kids growing up as the story progressses. Not neccessarily a tear-jerker, but have tissues handy just in case.

A beautiful interpretation of the song, and one of my fav. L&L fics ever.

A must-read for anyone who likes HP fanfic. It really is that good.

The first NC-17 story I ever read: it's phenomenal. Sex, sex, and more sex, specially featuring the "cane of carnality". However, I do have to put out some warnings:
This fic is very BDSM oriented. If this is not your thing, be wary. The fic introduces it slowly, so if you're curious, you might give it a shot. If the plot sounds interesting to you, but you're not into the kink, check out Chapter 12. It's a great discussion of how Lucius came to be who he is, and one that shapes many of my friends' perspective on him. The author seems to think her Lucius is OOC, but I think her description is a very realistic one (if it can apply to Draco, it can apply to Lucius, too!)

The charachters are wonderful, and their interactions are beautiful. What makes it original is the author's way of showing the charachters: in a dream talking to God. That's all I'm going to say about that, but what happens is funny and-to me, serious and a little bit sweet. But everyone, I'm sure, gets something different. This story is great if you're looking for a House fic that will make you think.

As the hours pass, both JC's POV and Lance's POV recount their history and their future, and it's just a comfortable and familiar slice of life. They go out to dinner, they have sex, JC gives a radio interview while Lance gives him a footrub, and there's lots of thinking and reminiscing interwoven into the narrative. What's wonderful about this story is how the exposition fits into the internal monologues of both JC and Lance. You can see the possibilities as they see them, and you can feel the night passing as they experience it. JC's characterization is a great blend of random, intelligent, freaky, artistic – everything we love about JC, expressed through his thoughts and actions, and through the lens of Lance's observation.

No one's writing has better comedic timing than Capp. This is the funniest shit out there. Seriously.

This is a future!fic involving Seth, Ryan, and Seth's crush on Ryan despite Ryan's relationship with Summer. It's painful and awkward and comfortable in only the way that Ryan and Seth can be, even with so much going on around them. It's beautifully written, and definitely one of the better future!fics I've read in a while.

Brief summary: “He couldn’t leave her, and he couldn’t let Seth be alone.” This is such a perfect threesome dynamic. There's Ryan/Theresa, Ryan/Seth, and then Seth/Ryan/Theresa, and all of the pairings work so *well*. The best thing about this fic, though, is while it's NC-17 and a threesome, it's *not* PWP. It's very developed and thoughtful and painful, at parts. It takes place during the hiatus between season one and two, so torchthisnow has included the baby storyline in this fic, from the initial pregnancy to the miscarriage and the aftermath. But at the same time, the sex is so perfectly placed that the story is able to be hot while maintaining a sad undertone. It's very well-written and the characterization of all the characters is perfect.
