The table is just a way to help organize your recs. Link it at the beginning of each rec post so that anyone interested in checking out your other recs can see it.
General question about links to the stories themselves (in our reviews):
If we are working with a story on an archive site with ratings disclaimers, how do you want us to handle that? Linking directly to the story usually bypasses the disclaimer pop-up/screen, which the archive site clearly wants used (or else it wouldn't be there). Many authors, on their personal sites, ask for links only to the splash screen with disclaimer.
When I rec on my LJ, I tend to err on the side of linking to the author page or requested splash page, esp since many of my recs are going to be NC17/M, but that's not a direct link to the story. Thoughts? Policy?
Good question, and one I hadn't really thought of until you brought it up. Whenever possible, I'll ask that you link directly to the author's story. If there's a request not to on the author's personal site (and I understand in HP especially that there's a lot of sensitivity about this issue), then link to the disclaimer/splash page, but explain that's where a person's going and give any necessary navigational directions in parentheses.
I just want to make sure I understand...this is my first time doing any of this something100 communities, and I'm a little confused. Why do you put the table up? Just to keep you organized? Or do you link to the posts where you rec the fics IN the table? And do you put the recs on this comm, or on your personal journal, or should I make a journal FOR reccing for this comm? And does each rec have to be in its own post?
Hi! You answered your own question correctly. Yeah, the table is put up to organize the recs.
Here's how this table thing works. You put up the table in your lj. Then you use the table to keep organized. The table is also used to link back to your recs. When you write up your entry to post in this comm, it just needs to include the header info: title, author, little summary, etc. Then you just leave a link at the end of that to your longer rec at your lj.
The recs are written up in your own lj, so no you don't have to make a journal for reccing in this comm. You can if you want, but you probably shouldn't need to do so.
And I beleive that the limit is two recs to a post.
If you need any further clarification, feel free to ask!
