The Phantom of the Opera Table

Claim: The Phantom of the Opera
Prompt: 01. First Time.
Title: "Phantoms of the Past"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] stefanie_bean
Rating: M
Length: epic
Brief summary: As soon as I signed up for this round of [livejournal.com profile] rec50, I *knew* I had to begin with "Phantoms of the Past." It is the best long-form fanfic I've read. In any fandom. Ever. I am not exaggerating (and I am not just saying this because [livejournal.com profile] stefanie_bean is on my flist). A mature, passionate Christine looks back on her life after Raoul has died, following their thirty-year marriage. Christine comes to terms with her relationships with both Raoul and Erik and looks with hope towards her future.

Title: Bodies on the Shore
Author: Elcie
Rating: T
Length: long
Brief summary: Brilliant story. If you're in this "phandom," you've probably seen this recced before--and deservedly so. Like a lot of great AUs, it starts off with a logical, story-driven "What If?": "What if Christine did not have the resolve to approach Erik as his 'living bride' when Raoul and the Persian are in the torture chamber?" The author maintains Leroux's style perfectly. *This* is morbid Erik/Christine at its best.
