Now all Michael can focus on is the image of wet lips dusted with chocolate crumbs, turned up in a teasing smirk he knows so well. He can't help but think, everything he remembers has become a bit skewed now, because he hardly remembers his own cursed reply, mostly just remembers the weight and heat of his brother's hand ruffling his hair, pressing down to shove his head into the box of cookies, before chuckling on his way out the door.

But. No, God, these are the things he's not thinking about. He crunches a cookie half, brings his mind back to the task at hand. Cookies. Not his brother. Not Lincoln.
