My Table of Prompts
Claim: Horatio Hornblower, general series
Title: A Letter from Kingston, January 1802
Author:
commodorified
Characters: Archie Kennedy, Major Alexander Edrington (A), Horatio Hornblower (H), William Bush (W)
Prompt: 14, Loss
Rating: PG
Length: Short
Brief summary: A letter from Archie to Major Edrington following the events in Mutiny. Archie is setting his affairs in order and taking care of those he is leaving behind. Part of the "All the King's Men Universe" (which should really be read beforehand, but this fic was too hard not to rec).
When you think of me, try not to dwell overmuch on this muddle of an exit -- think of me at sea, or prowling with you in Portsmouth. I have been happiest there, by his side -- and by yours.
