This is a snapshot of a day in their life together. Ray’s voice is very well done, and it’s wonderful and definitely schmoopy to see Ray reflect on the last 10 years with Fraser and to see how they’ve settled. I think the reason there are so many post-COTW stories in the fandom is because we all want to know what happened to them after they rode off on their Adventure. This gives us the very lovely happy ending that we wish for them.

This story isn’t about much, per se, but Kat’s writing and imagery, and her portrayal of Ray and Fraser working together, however innocuous the situation, is pitch perfect.

Issues around consent, trust, and domination are golden for me, which is why I'd prefer not to see any 'safeword' discussion in a story, as it frequently mucks with my ability to suspend my disbelief. I want to see extreme power dynamics, and if at times that means the character isn't quite true to the show...well, I can go with it, if I'm getting what I want.

And in this story, I get what I want: intensity, drive, and *guh*.
