Brief summary: Shortly after Ronon arrives on Atlantis, he brings up certain observations he's made concerning his teammates over breakfast in the mess hall with John. I like how this story addresses several of the issues contingent upon Ronon's joining the team; at this point, he's still an unknown entity and not yet entirely trusted by Sheppard and co., while on his part, he's feeling his way around a new society after being on the run for seven years. The conversation between Ronon and John nicely highlights the wariness each of them feels, while also showing the understanding and camaraderie that's begun to develop among them and Rodney and Teyla.

Brief summary: This is another AU from the Harlequin challenge. I wanted something that was terrifically dirty and had a very sensual world to back it up. This AU does a great job of delivering both of those things. The world is as rich and detailed as a regency-style romance, yet the situation itself has more in common with "The Story of O" and "The Pearl", which is why the conceit of this piece -- where the completed pieces is simply listed as 'Chapter One' -- works so well. Set is a bordello, Rodney is the virginal servant (and scientist) who has to support his 'ruined' sister, while the licentious Lord John Sheppard purchases his favors for the night and teaches him the myriad of things his body can enjoy.

Plus it's really, really hot?

And what's really interesting in this story is watching the progression, from cute-funny "ho-ho, Princess Rodney got himself in trouble and we are here to rescue him" to "I don't care who I have to kill to get Rodney back."

Personally, I love Sheppard when he's angry.

This is a smutty smut fest, a very well written one, that includes some really lovely moments between Fraser and Ray. The premise is that Ray is sexually frustrated, and Fraser wants to help him out. Ray has to come to terms with being with Fraser and being with a man, and figuring out what it all means to him. He draws lines that he keeps crossing, if you know what I mean. *g* There’s also a wonderfully hot little epilogue that should be read in conjunction. This is still, behind all the scorching sex, a love story, and it really comes through.

Brief summary: This is a very nice little fic that I discovered recently, and feeds into my recent dS obsession with all things kidfic or AU, which really makes no sense at all if you consider how hard I resisted these themes to begin with. Fraser and Ray are platonic (well, at least on the surface) roommates some time post-COTW, and Fraser finds himself a father when Victoria dies and leaves their son, who Fraser had no idea about, to Fraser. Why this fic works so well for me is watching Ray build a life for this little family that he suddenly has, and in the process, realizing and acting on his feelings for Fraser. Watching Fraser, Ray, and Giles become a family just gets me right there, man.
