Rating: -
Length: long
Brief summary: It will take all of M. Hercule Poirot's gray cells to solve the mystery of who killed the well-known film magnate L. J. Pearlman. Was it his bitterest rival, Mr Kirkpatrick of F-M-S Pictures, or perhaps Miss Jean Spears, the celebrated film star, or even the First Class steward, Howard Dorough, who was the last to see the murdered man alive? This is an absolutely delightful pastiche of an early Agatha Christie crime story! Everything, the writing, the dialogue, the whole atmosphere, feels completely right and the sparkly boys and girls fit seemlessly into this very original setting.

Author: RaeWhit.

Rating: NC-17.

Length: Epic.

Brief summary: “What if Harry had not been given the entire prophecy by Albus Dumbledore? Years later, forever changed by that second part of the prophecy, Severus and Harry are pulled together again, this time by a common love of flowers and gardens.”

This story is absolutely lovely and poignant. The author’s original characters are captivating (Winnie Weasley, in particular, is unforgettable) and her slow development of the relationship between Harry and Severus is sweet and believable.

Title: The Mirror of Maybe. (WiP)

Author: Midnight Blue.

Rating: NC-17.

Length: Epic.

Brief summary: After being pulled inside a magical mirror, 16-year-old Harry Potter appears to have returned unharmed – if it weren’t for the fact that mentally he is now 28-years-old and a War Mage. Returning from a possible future where Voldemort’s final defeat has cost a lot (including Albus and Severus), Harry is determined to change the course of the war by whatever means he has.

Despite being a Work in Progress, this story is a Snarry classic. The author manages to enrich Rowling’s even more – elves, dwarves, mages and magicians come alive in her narrative. Magical and muggle elements are blended just right to create a story that hooks you and leaves you wanting for more.

Length: 5, 400 words
Brief summary: One of the things I love most about this fandom is the number of ways things can play out, especially relationships. This story is a lovely exploration of five different relationshhips, how they begin, and under what circumstances; the characterization is exquisite. Which does not exclude exquisitely painful -- no matter how much we love these men and women, they are not perfect, and [livejournal.com profile] penknife isn't afraid of that. Rating: PG
Length: 3, 330 words
Brief summary: This is an old, old story from way back when, and it, I think, started at least one if not more pieces of fanon. For that alone, it's worth reading. But the things that didn't happen here are fascinating, because they don't have any context, and yet mesh so well with canon and are so plausible. This fic takes the lackadaisical side of John and pushes it to the forefront, creating a John who's at peace, and it's beautiful. Claim: Stargate: Atlantis, Rodney McKay
Title: Entanglement
Author: [livejournal.com profile] linaerys
Characters: Rodney McKay, John Sheppard, Kolya, Caldwell
Prompt: AU
Rating: NC-17
Length: epic
Brief summary:

A fantastic AU of the classic Hitchcock film Notorious, written for the [livejournal.com profile] reel_sga challenge. Just post WWII, John Sheppard is the estranged son of a convicted Nazi spy and Rodney McKay is the government scientist who recruits him to spy against his father's associates in Brazil. John is captivating as the dissolute and loose-living Miami rent boy, but it's Rodney, awkwardly out of his depth in both his personal and professional relationships with John, who gives the story it's emotional center. [livejournal.com profile] linaerys does a terrific job of adapting Atlantis characters and technology into the plot while keeping the story very much grounded in it's post WWII setting.
