Big Damn Table.

Claim: Stargate Atlantis: Teyla
Title: Heightened Awareness
Author: miera ([livejournal.com profile] miera_c)
Characters: Teyla, Sheppard
Prompt: 22- UST
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: Beautiful meld of setting and characterization. Sheppard's team takes refuge inside a cave while a Tornado is building around them, and the author uses the physical sensations associated with that as a background and metaphor for the relationship building between Sheppard and Teyla. Nothing is explicitly stated, but it builds just the same.

Teyla hovered at the cave's entrance, staring out over the low plain spread below her. It was late and her mind registered how tired her body was, but she knew she would not sleep soon. Though restless, she remained perfectly still. Every sound and movement registered in her senses, which far exceeded her normal abilities. She felt as though some strange source of energy had been channeled into her from an unknown place.

She associated such awareness with the presence of the Wraith. Though that was not the case here, it was difficult to separate what she felt from what she knew.

Title: Typical Day
Author: Martha Wilson ([livejournal.com profile] ltlj)
Characters: Teyla, Sheppard, Ford, McKay, Beckett
Prompt: 23 - Time
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: Time, in this case, means 'A Day in the Life' of Sheppard's team. It's fun and slightly absurd, yet still remains strongly rooted in the characters.

John came to with McKay and Teyla hauling him toward the jumper. It was a bright sunny day in a field with tall sparse trees and dry yellow grass, and he had absolutely no memory of how they had gotten here. He said, "I take it the mission didn't go well?"

Breathing hard, McKay muttered, "Stupid Genii. They deserve having their brains explode."

"Yes, but I would prefer not to be there when it happens," Teyla said fervently, from under John's other arm.

"I have no idea what you guys are talking about," John confided, as they dragged him up the ramp. He tried to help, but his body felt oddly disconnected from his brain.
