This is everything that I love about fan fiction: lyrical, concise, small details that cling to the reader's memory, and true skill in characterization. This is one of, if not, my favorite P/K fic.

But Finnick never thought that he would have to choose between bringing her home and keeping her safe, and he wants both. How Annie Cresta crept up on Finnick Odair.
Epic! This is just the story I've been craving since Catching Fire and Mockingbird introduced Finnick and Annie. The characterizations are love, the plot is fabulous and the pacing is perfect for an adventure in the arena. The first person point of view caught me off-guard (although I am not sure why), but it's very well done here — everything coming from Finnick sounds like the canon!Finnick. Definitely a fic for everyone even if you're not usually a (canon) pairing reader.
