Claiming for Round I is now closed! However, that just means that claiming for Rounds II, III and beyond are open! You can make up to two claims for upcoming rounds. If your claim is already picked for Round II, you can always claim it for Round III, IV, etc. Claiming for Round II ends December 31st, but I have a feeling claims will go fast, so sign up! Also, take a look at our wait list to see what fandoms have already been claimed. If your name isn't up there and it should be, let me know!
Also, for Round II, I'm going to change the table up some to spice up the recs, and give reccers more options for different kinds of fics. I'm taking suggestions here. So if you have a favorite kind of fic, or an interesting word prompt that I left out, let me know.
I'm also putting a poll up here to see what you think of the current prompts. Which ones you enjoy reading and/or reccing, and which ones you don't. The purpose of this community, besides the fun of it, is to make a recommendation archive with a variety of different types of fics in a variety of different types of pairings. So even if you're only enjoying the recs and not making them, I still want to know your opinions on how to make the recs as interesting as possible. I'll keep the poll up until about mid-December when we make the final decisions about the Round II table. Thanks in advance. It really shouldn't take that long.

Date: 2005-11-02 01:47 am (UTC)We put the story titles in the subject line because that's what shows up when you memory a post. And it makes it easier for readers to see what stories we've already recced here.

Date: 2005-12-18 06:57 pm (UTC)#1. Please, please, PLEASE don't make the Original Character prompt disappear.
I love fics with good OCs, they're just hard to find sometimes. After seeing the results of the "Least" poll regarding OCs, I fear for its continued existence as a prompt. Also, the fact that no one (me included) voted OCs as a "Most" might have something to do with the fact that it was up against AU and Humor, which are both hugely popular categories. One of the few things I like more then a good OC, is a good AU. I was really torn about which to vote for, and in the end went with my greater love, but I'd change my vote if it would keep OCs from disappearing.
#2. I also feel like I should stand up for a few of the other unpopular categories.
Family: Not my favorite, but I do like the occasional 'meet the parents fic'. The only thing I can really say in its defense is that it was up against First Time. I understand if Family has to go, but I, for one, would miss it.
Death: This is one of those categories that isn't really anyone's favorite, but isn't really hated either. A good death fic is great every now and then, but It's not one of those things I'd like to see in every fic I read, you know?
Time: I think this is a good prompt, it's just a slightly abstract one. It's one of the ones that's really fun to interpret. I think it should stay in as-is. Plus, I have the perfect rec for it, come Round II.
Redemption: I like this category. Again, I think it's a little abstract (not as much a Time) and I think my response for Death holds true here also.
All in all, there are some categories I wouldn't mind losing *cough*Holiday*cough*, but I hope you'll listen regarding the ones I've mentioned. Especially concerning OCs.
In any case, I look forward to reccing come January.
