Jack comes to the warehouse once a year to see their belongings haven't been disturbed.
He comes to visit nonexistent graves.
He comes hoping to learn something new about them, and sometimes he does, though not always what it means.
He'd bring flowers, sure he knows what each of them would like, but it's not allowed.

Brief summary: Jack decides the Torchwood members (minus Ianto, who's the least horrible of the lot) must go on a training day. They spend the time with Sarah Jane Smith, Clyde, Luke, and Maria. Guess which group is more competent?
Tosh mutters something unintelligible, but that’s alright, because she’s poking around inside an alien computer and, actually, it’s rather fantastic and like nothing she’s ever seen before. She hears Maria moving behind her and then she’s sitting next to her, her knees drawn up to her chest and her arms wrapped around her legs.
“Want to hear about the Alpha Centauri opera singer we helped out last week? He was on his way to a concert in Betelgeuse and had a bit of engine trouble. He was in a right panic, but Sarah calmed him down, and they had a nice chat. She’s met Alpha Centauri before, on some planet called Peladon.”
Tosh smiles, and there’s a sinking feeling in her stomach as she suspects that if they had been the ones to find the unfortunate Alpha Centauri, they’d have been much more interested in the interstellar spaceship than the wellbeing of its occupant.
