And I'm not even Christian! What can I say, there's many great ones out there....

Xmas is all about family, and this story features both Ray's mom and cool cousin and Bodie's matchmaking parents as It stretches over the years, starting even before the partnership. The ending is one of my favorites ever.

It's strange being up North on his own for Christmas after nearly four years living in the daft sod's pocket. But Cowley suddenly came up with a week off, and Bodie buggered off to Benidorm for some reason he isn't telling. Doyle only found out where he was going because he caught Bodie charming the travel agent on the phone to get a last-minute flight.

What the hell is he doing in Spain? Doyle's been longing to ask, but he'd no more stoop to that than he would to asking Bodie what the hell's going on between the two of them.

Brief summary: Written from Cowley's POW. After a mission, the CI5 team is spending the rainy night at a monastery. Cowley searches for his two operatives and finds more than he expected. A very sad story, you get to feel sorry for Cowley because of something that ended even before it begun.  

He reached an empty cell and paused, frowning. He moved to the next across the corridor; also empty. And the next. He ran through the numbers again: yes, two of his men were missing. Why would anyone choose to locate themselves closer than necessary to the decisive blasts of cold air coming in that window? The next room was also empty, and the two beyond. Quite obviously, courtesy hadn't simply prompted two of them to leave a room available for him away from the worst of the cold! So, where were they?
