Everything in him liquefies, threatens to send him slipping, sliding softly to the floor and all he can do is breathe.

Veronica talks through his silence, fills the space of his office with words that describe what his brother did. But the words murder and dead and Lincoln are so big and heavy that he doesn't have any room for what Veronica is saying now, so all there is for him in this moment after hearing what he can't, doesn't want to, understand, are her lips trembling.
