Brief summary: After Lincoln's death Michael seeks consolation in LJ's arms. Lincoln might be dead in this fic, but there's no mistaking his presence all throughout.

It's been 3 hours since Michael paced impatiently waiting for his nephew, his lover, his brother's unknowing replacement to return from the grocery store, knowing that what he was about to do would ruin his relationship with LJ, but in the end, save him a world of pain.

It's been nearly an hour since Michael stood before his nephew and with five little words, sent his world crashing down around him, a little bit of his soul crumbling with it. "We can't do this anymore." A little bit of LJ died with those words and Michael thinks it oddly appropriate that a little bit of him died too.

It's been nearly an hour since LJ stormed out of the house and nearly an hour since Michael sat down with a bottle of Jack Daniels.
