Characters: Dean
Prompt: 18 Light
Rating: R
Length: Medium
Brief summary: I’m quite fond of disjointed, train of consciousness thought fics that read like riddles you have to solve. The problem with them is that the author may make them too simple (i.e. they’re boring) or too challenge (i.e. too hard to understand what is going on). The author avoids both extremes nicely, providing enough information to connect the dots but trusting the reader not to need to be spoon feed.

The thing is, when it comes down to it, he's just a guy. So when they bind him with chains and ropes and when they stand over him with guns, there's nothing he can do about it.

When they kill him, he will not come back to life. But he's not going to think about that. What he's going to think about is how he's going to get out of this. And he'd better think quickly, 'cause they're coming at him with knives, and with fire.

Light it, someone says, and he wants to scream. Part of him is saying that no, this is not what happens. This is not how the story ends.

Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live. Or a demon, or the guy who hunts them, apparently.
