My Big Damn Table.

Claim: Stargate Atlantis: Teyla
Title: Atavistic Pie
Author: cofax ([livejournal.com profile] cofax7)
Characters: Teyla
Prompt: 09 - Hurt/Comfort
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: Before Seige III aired, SGA fandom was rife with thoughts and ideas on how each of the characters would get out of their predicament from the end of Seige II. As far as we knew at the time, Teyla had been captured by the Wraith and was probably imprisoned aboard a hive ship.

Given that set-up, the author does an incredible job of weaving in some thoughts about what Wraith technology might be like plus some speculation on the effects of the Wraith gene and illuminates Teyla's character with it: her determination, her strength, and her willingness to do whatever needs to be done. She is no damsel in need of rescue in this story. Teyla can rescue herself.

She is choking.

Coughing, gasping, wrenching her head from side to side, she wakes herself. A thing that has never been, or so the Keeper would say. The Keeper she hears, she heard, whispering.

No one wakes in the pods: they sleep, ever. Cold and ageless and waiting until they are needed. Until hunger rules, and the life, the blood, is taken and taken and taken, nothing left but wisps, the crushed and dry leaves of winter. Unknowing, moving from sleep to death all unaware.

But Teyla wakes, choking.

Title: Cleansing
Author: Nemo ([livejournal.com profile] nemoinis)
Characters: Teyla/Elizabeth
Prompt: 46 - Reccer's Choice (femslash)
Rating: NC-17
Length: Medium
Brief summary: Ah, the joy of a fannish cliche. In this story, Elizabeth participates in an Athosian ritual, to wash away the ill-will between herself and Teyla left after the events of Suspicion. Okay, yes, it is a pretty thin plot, but there are hot tubs and hot sex, and there is no bad in that.

It was just outside the new settlement, hidden behind a wall of vines, down a narrow crack and into an open room.

"Oh," Elizabeth exclaimed when they arrived, "a hot spring."

Steam curled gently from the surface of the small pool, making the air humid and heavy but something smelled sweet, like flowers mixed with burnt sugar. Roughly hewn benches lined the walls, piled with stacks of cloth that Elizabeth assumed were towels. Teyla drew the flap hanging over the entrance closed and secured the ties.

"No one will disturb us."

PSA: No matter how old a story is, most authors like to hear that people are reading their work, so please think about leaving feedback when you're done. Thanks!
