Brief summary: Harry makes friends with one of nature's shy creatures.
One of the classics, but I just couldn't resist recing it. I love the subtle hints that are given throughout the story, so that when you read it again, you wonder "How could I have not known?" It's a playful feel good romp that I enjoyed reading over and over again.
"Hello! What have we here?" Harry Potter thrust the hoe into the freshly turned earth and peered down at the large gray rock. A narrow black head edged out from under it at the sound of his words in Parseltongue.
"You speak?" came the clearly surprised sibilant hiss of the black snake as it slid back onto the flat rock. Harry had startled it just moments earlier, and it had ducked under the rock with barely a flick of its tail.
"Uh, yeah," Harry replied, leaning on the sturdy hoe as the full ebony length coiled back onto the rock. Dark round eyes looked at him, and Harry crouched down to nearly ground level. His knees were scuffed and dirty, poking out of old cut-off shorts. He put out one work-roughened finger and rubbed it along the snake's head. "You're very pretty," he said in the soft language of serpents. The elegantly pointed head swayed rapturously at the touch. "What's your name?"
The head cocked, one black beady eye fixing on him. "Name?" it asked.
"What do you call yourself?" Harry clarified, thinking maybe he'd got the word wrong. Parseltongue relied a lot on sibilants which could overlap and sound similar.
"The Snake," came the amused reply, and Harry smiled too.
"I'm Harry," he said, giving the head one last rub before standing back up for a stretch. It was hot under the bright summer sun. He accio'd his dipper from the water bucket he kept nearby and took a long swig at the cold water.
"Hello Harry," he heard from the rock. "You're very pretty too."

Brief summary: Taken from a doorstep ten years previous, Harry James Potter-Corvus, the heir to the throne of the Corvus Clan is a vampire, and he’s damn proud of it. Now, the Wizarding world is about to find out what happened to their hero. Will they recognise talent when they see it, or will prejudice get in the way?
I know it sounds cliché but if it is, it is the best cliché I have ever read. This is the first of 7 books that will follow Harry Potter-Corvus through his years at Hogwarts. The first thorugh fourth books are complete and I believe the author is working on the fifth at the present. While the premise may not entice you, I can assure you the twists and turns in the plot will drag you in if you give it a chance. This is a world that I cannot give enough praise to.
“Much must be done on this eve, if all is to go as planned. Consult the seer, Noel; I want her present for the change.” Ivan instructed and barely nodded his head when Noel bowed and then turned off to do as he was told without a word. “Maéryn go and get ready and then help Cerelias prepare.”
“Yes, master.” she too bowed and left and Ivan finally looked up and glanced around. The home of the Corvus clan spread out widely and the huge manor housed over a hundred vampires. Ivan Corvus was the leader of the Corvus clan, the largest in the Vampiric world and therefore the most respected.
Like the wizards, the vampire world was hidden from both muggles and wizards alike. They lived almost in between the lines and very rarely had need to cross those lines and enter either of the other worlds. But this now caused for one of those rare occasions. For the vampires, they preferred to live in what they still call clans and each clan is judged by sheer number, power and, of course, the slyness of the leaders. There were four large clans and hundreds of little ones who were made to look up to the larger ones.
The Corvus clan was quite clearly the largest in all aspects, Ivan Corvus had gained leadership when his father was killed and had held the position for over one hundred years now. Then there was the Janius and the Polumn clans. Those two were constantly at war with each other, fighting for second place. Fervire was one seen as abnormal by most as Raymond Fervire, the clan leader, was content to sit back and hold the place as the forth largest clan in the vampire community.
The biggest and the strongest always ruled, and so there were constant attempts on Ivan’s life, the life of his sister Cerelias and too, the life of his husband, Danté Delgárdo. Most assassination attempts skipped the other three large clans and aimed straight for Corvus, but he deflected most of them with a practised ease that was legendary; the few he didn’t deflect, his guards did. His guards trailed him everywhere, though most of the time they stayed out of sight, and both Noel and Maéryn were his most trusted in the clan, they were nearly always at his side.
Now, this baby boy would be brought up as his own son and he would be the heir to the throne of the Corvus clan. As the stars told, the boy was destined to bring about many changes in all three of the worlds… but for that to happen, the baby needed to be turned for he would never be safe in the vampire community while he was still mortal. The healer would be there and would perform the necessary precautions to be sure that the boy would not be stuck as a child forever.
For this to work, they would need to make the boy a full-blooded vampire. For the pure-blooded daywalkers grew until they came to the specific age of eighteen years old and then their body would stop growing, it had something to do with puberty. For Harry though, it would be easier than that, he would automatically stop aging when he came into his full Wizarding power which was from anytime between seventeen to twenty one years old. Ivan and Danté, both acknowledged as the most powerful of the ancients, would both be giving their blood to the boy until it mixed and ran through his veins… making Harry their son in all sense of the word.
Not only that, but in theory Harry should then grow to be the most powerful of vampires and when Ivan was killed, Harry would take his place as his son and his heir and he would lead the clan of Corvus into the changes he was fated to make. Ivan nodded as the great doors to the huge manor were pushed open for him and then he swept through the halls and towards his rooms. For years now he had waited for his son to arrive, and finally he was here and in his arms. Not even the Wizarding law would be able to do anything about it when Harry had been changed into a vampire.
All would be well… and this boy would want for nothing.
