Brief summary: Kevin is tired, AJ is in danger of losing his life, and Howie is helpful, but Kevin surely must have dreamt that last thing he said. A sweet and funny little story with a wonderful, larger-than-life AJ.

"I know this is going to come as a major surprise to you, but not everything is about sex."

"Like what?"

Kevin blanked. That was his only excuse. That and being so tired in the first place. "Um... Bunnies. And snowballs. And mountains."

"Playboy bunnies. Snowballs. Tall, erect mountains."

Really, the only thing keeping him from killing AJ was knowing that he'd have to stay up even later explaining to people why he'd done it.

Brief summary: I had a hard time finding a real drabble (i.e. 100 words, no more, no less) that I liked enough to rec until I remembered this one by topaz. It has the sort of self-contained solidity that a really good drabble can have, and that is even more rare in longer stories. A very satisfying read.

AJ knows better, has spent years fighting the rage and depression and fear, but sometimes the self-loathing still crashes over him.
