Brief summary: Don't be frightened by the original characters, they are well written and very real. Alexander is Snape's son from a brief affair some 12 yrs ago. Now Igna Hillswick is dying and handing over her much loved son to a man who has never before felt love. Oh, and Alexander just happens to also be a genetic werewolf. This story takes you slowly, but surely, through Severus painful transformation from the greasy git in the dungeons, to a man who can love and be loved in return, something the Git couldn't even imagine. What I love most of this story is the careful handling of Severus' character. Josan is one of my favorite authors. I can not recommend ALL of her work enough. As you'll see when I rec a few of her other stories later. Each story is unique and wonderful.

Brief summary: I've never seen or even heard of the movie, "Love Actually", but I loved this. For one it's HBP compliant. The war is over, Severus is cleared but people still hate and distrust him. He did murder, even if it was for a good cause. Remus is recovering from the loss of Tonks, who died in the war. Lonely he asks Severus for dinner. As Snape says, "Is this some bizarre form of Gryffindor nobility during which you intend for us to lay aside our animosity so we may put the past behind us and move on, or is it simply because I've moved up to the top of your social list by virtue of still being alive?" As always McKay is funny and sensitive, pulling laughter and tears from unsuspecting readers.
