And for any 'Shipper who was *too* traumatized by my last two recs...here's a pair of MSRs. ;-)

Claim: The X-Files: General Series
Title: The Magician (series)
Author: Suzanne Bickerstaffe and Jennifer Lyon
Characters: Fox Mulder/Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, original characters
Prompt: 02. AU
Rating: PG-13 and adult versions
Length: four (possibly more but not on this site) novels
Brief Summary: One of the earliest examples (possibly the first? I don't know) of a favorite fanfic genre of mine, the let's-drop-our-heroes-into-a-fantasy-world AU. *grin* Basically, Mulder and Scully are investigating the unexplained appearance of a gargoyle-like being in a DC laboratory when a portal opens and sucks all three of them back to the gargoyle's home dimension, and it turns out to be no accident, because our intrepid FBI agents happen to be the fulfillment of a prophecy, and it's up to them to save the Realm from invasion by dark, ruthless creatures from yet another dimension. To complicate matters, it's a world where magic is real, and both Mulder and Scully find themselves developing unexpected powers and a powerful psychic link, much to Scully's chagrin. Even though I'm no longer a 'Shipper, this still remains among my all-time favorite AUs, not just because it hits both my major kinks--fantasy and telepathy--but because it's incredibly well-written and the Realm is vivid and three-dimensional enough to deserve publication. *grin*

Claim: The X-Files: General Series
Title: The Children's Teeth (series)
Author: Erin McCole-Cupp
Characters: Fox Mulder/Dana Scully, Walter Skinner, The Lone Gunmen, others, original characters
Prompt: 24. Future Fic
Rating: PG-13 at worst
Length: varies by story...the longest is novel-length
Brief Summary: AU (I think because it was Jossed before she finished it) set approximately twenty years in the future of season 5. Meg Mulder has believed for two years that her parents were dead, but she's about to discover that almost everything she thought she knew about her life was a lie when the past comes looking for Mulder and Scully's miracle child, and her best chance for survival is in the hands of her half-sister...Emily. Pretty much, IMO, redefines the kidfic genre into something worth reading. *g*

Edit: GAH. I forgot Gossamer doesn't allow direct linking to the stories. Okay, here's the link to the archive: Gossamer. "The Children's Teeth" and "The Children's Teeth: Sister's Blood" are listed on the author pages under McCole-Cupp, Erin, and "The Children's Teeth: Litany" is under Erin.
