My Rec Table

Claim: Queer as Folk: UK - General
Title: All That Glitters
Author: Sue Walsh
Characters: Stuart/Vince, Curt/Vince
Prompt: 33. Crossover
Rating: NC-17
Length: Epic
Brief summary: Leave it to Sue to do this wonderful crossover with QAFUK and Velvet Goldmine. What I enjoyed so much is that it was Vince that Curt went after here. I also love a jealous and worried Stuart, and we get that in full force. I think she also wrote Curt wonderfully in character, and gave us a scorcher of a sex scene between Stuart and Vince. For those interested, there is also a sequel called Nor All Those Who Wander. Both of these are highly recommended -- for people who enjoy both fandoms!

Title: Waiting and Together
Author: Shella [livejournal.com profile] villain132001
Characters: Stuart/Vince
Prompt: 36. Family
Rating: PG
Length: Medium
Brief summary: What I love about these two conversations is the wonderful juxtaposition of ideas Shella uses. Vince waiting for his father to show up and spend time with him versus Stuart and Vince being involved in Alfie's life. In these two short drabbles, She shows how their lives have been shaped by their own experiences. A really lovely read, and I am a sucker for stories where they are helping raise Alfie as well. I also love how she shows their understanding of the other, using pauses and short answers to convey so much. The dialogue is realised nicely. Highly recommended!
