My Sheppard/McKay rec50 table.

Claim: Stargate Atlantis: John Sheppard/Rodney McKay
Title: Intersections
Author: kaneko ([livejournal.com profile] kaneko)
Characters: Sheppard/McKay
Prompt: 23- Time
Rating: Mature
Length: epic
Brief summary: I love the way this story parallels John and Rodney's individual pasts, interleaving them with their present. It's a very difficult structure to pull off, and the author does an incredible job of building a case for why they might be attracted to each other. Some of the segments are jossed, but the story integrity holds. It's a brilliant emotional roller-coaster ride.

Plus I think John would *love* to find out that Rodney kicked a clown in the nuts.

Title: Further Down the River
Author: orangecloudgirl
Characters: Brian Kinney, Michael Novotny, Emmett Honeycutt, OFC
Prompt: 21. Epiphany
Rating: R
Length: epic (16490 words)
Brief summary: A tragic event pushes Brian to new places. AU after season 1. Its...its phenomenal. Orangecloudgirl is one of my new favorite authors. She writes a complex and interesting Brian and gives everything deep and meaningful. Its lovely, really. Sad at first but ends with a serious feel good fic. Give it a chance, you'll be hooked on her style, I promise!

Title: Framed
Author: Tgray
Characters: Brian, Justin
Prompt: 24. Future Fic.
Rating: NC-17
Length: long (9,153 words)
Brief summary: First things first. I dont like Brian/Justin fic. I really, really dislike it. I have a problem with the whole dynamic to be perfectly frank. But. I love Tgray. I followed her over from the Buffyverse but then she dove into the B/J and I was like...um, no. I still dont like it the pairing but I respect Tgray as an author and I need a little bit of diversity in my recs. So here it is. The one and only Brian/Justin rec that I will make. Its a future fic, and its very well written. But...its just not my pairing.

Title: The Man Who Wasn't There
Author: [livejournal.com profile] chase820
Characters: Ensamble QAF, Ensamble AtS
Prompt:19. Dark
Rating: NC-17
Length: epic
Brief summary: Ok folks, this is my Chase recs page. I'm doing them both at once because they're two parts of the same universe. So first off! The Man Who Wasnt There. Prompt? Dark. Why? Cause its #$%@ing dark people! I'm not joking around here. Its intense, its insane, its deep, its ugly, and it is so beautiful that I sat staring at my screen for LITERALLY days on end reading her work. Its totally absurd how amazing this story is. Its an IMPECIBLY written cross with Angel the Series. Don't let that deter you though. The writing is so good it makes me wonder why she's not a household name. Then again, maybe she is. I dont know, and frankly, thats not the issue here. The issue is that its a painfully good read.

Title: The Man Who Sold the World
Author: [livejournal.com profile] chase820
Characters: Brian Kinney, Michael Novotny
Prompt: 43. Denial
Rating: NC-17
Length: epic
Brief summary: The prequel to The Man Who Wasnt There. Its ALL about the denial and the subtext. So lush it hurts my soul to read but I cant seem to stop. Its through Michael's eyes for the most part but the picture it paints of Brian is so beautiful, it should be in a museum. College years fic.

Title:Wicked Game I: Strange What Desire Will Make Foolish People Do
Author: McKay at remembra@remembrall.slashcity.net
Characters: Severus Snape/Remus Lupin
Prompt: 37. Make-up.
Rating: R, for language
Length: Epic [27,241 words]
Brief summary: Starts in 3rd yr. Follows closely with canon, giving different shadings to favorite scenes, such as Snape delivering the Wolfsbane. Includes a cat that makes that makes you smile while wanting to wring a few necks. I'm using prompt 37. Make-up, cause the series leads up to, well the 'Making-up'.
Notes: Written in 2001. Part 1 of 3, I'm going to go ahead and make the whole series 1 prompt but discribe all 3.

Author: McKay at remembra@remembrall.slashcity.net
Characters: Snape/Lupin
Prompt: 37. Make-up
Rating: R
Length: Long [12,753 words]
Brief summary: It's very interesting reading a story entirely of letters. Its cute and funny and really bridges 1 and 3. Takes place in the 4th year with Severus describing events to an absent Remus. Again very consistent with canon.
Notes: Written in 2001. Part 2 of 3, I'm going to go ahead and make the whole series 1 prompt but describe all 3.

Author: McKay at remembra@remembrall.slashcity.net
Characters: Snape/Lupin
Prompt: 37. Make-up
Rating: NC-17
Length: Epic [26,387 words]
Brief summary: Reality. Before anything you deal with Snape watching Lupin transform, his terror and determination beautifully done. Then you have the realities of the war beginning, Sirius being a pain in the butt, and the regular frustrations of a serious relationship
Notes: Written in 2002. Part 3 of 3, I'm going to go ahead and make the whole series 1 prompt but describe all 3.

Title: In Academia
Author: Sushi (sushi@societyhappens.com )
Characters: Snape centric. Explicit SS/LM, SS/SB, SS/PP, SS/Avery, SS/LV; non-explicit SS/TR, SS/RL; implied SS/JP, SS/OMC, SS/OFC, SS/LE (het)
Prompt: 19. Dark.
Rating: NC-17
Warnings:(from the author) Explicit male/male sex ("relations" doesn't cut it);rape; GRAPHIC torture (see rating); student death; one of the coldest, cruelest, nastiest Snapes you could imagine. This is the least fluffy story I've ever written, and it's NOT recommended for the faint of heart.
Length: Huge Epic, plus other stories in the 'verse.
Brief summary: One of the best Dark!Snape's I've ever read. DARK. My favorite is the interactions with Voldemort/Tom Riddle. Snape starts out sexy, and Sushi explains how he, voluntarily, becomes what he is today. It's like the slow road to Hell. I can't really describe it well. It's a must read for Dark Snape Lovers. When finished also read the rest of the 'verse. Please heed the warnings though.

Title: Cruel Intentions
Author: Titti
Characters: Severus/Remus, Albus
Prompt: 32. Secrets
Rating: NC-17
Length: Epic [142KB]
Brief summary: The title says it all. After book 5 we've all seen Albus portrayed as manipulative or evil in various stories. This one surpasses the others by far. Great characterizations and visuals. The challenge this was done for is at the end, don't peek. Can't say more for fear of spoilage.

Title: Betrayals: A Story In Eight Parts
Author: Josan
Characters: Severus, OMC, house-elves, Sirius. There is slash but not between Severus and the OMC. The pairing will come in toward the end.
Prompt: 08. Friendship
Rating: Not said, I'd say R.
Length: Epic, somewhere around 700K
Brief summary: Snape's hurt. He's taken far away to heal with a wonderfully done OMC. The friendship that develops under Rus' care for Severus is genuinely heart-warming. Plus it's not perfect, I hate 'perfect' relationships, they don't exist, plus they're boring. The recovery seems real, though admittedly I know nothing about it. The house-elves! I just want to hug um, and squeeze um. Wonderful story. I can't praise it, or Josan, enough.
