Claim: Stargate Atlantis: John Sheppard/Rodney McKay
Title: Class of 2005
Author: coreopsis (
coreopsis)
Characters: Sheppard/McKay, Grodin/Zelenka, Elizabeth, Teyla, and others
Prompt: 10 - Fandom Cliche
Rating: Mature
Length: epic
Brief summary: Ah, the High School AU. There's just something about teenage Atlantis that draws authors to write it. Whether it's the chance for first love/true love, coming of age/coming out or 'the geek and the jock' big gay love story archetype, the end result is often a feeling of affectionate nostalgia and wistful longing which makes for a pretty heady read to me.
Plus it's really kinda cool to see what the authors do with the other characters, if the story is long enough to support it -- which this one is. It was posted as a WIP, so some things are not necessarily as smooth as they could be, but it is a very solid relationship-driven story.
