Long Way Down
Nov. 21st, 2005 12:46 pmClaim: "Without a Trace," Jack/Samantha
Title: Long Way Down
Author: Running Up Fawn
Characters: Samantha Spade, Jack Malone, and Lincoln Rhyme and Amelia Sachs from Jeffrey Deaver's novels.
Prompt: 33. Crossover.
Rating: PG-13.
Length: Long.
Brief summary: This is such an inventive crossover, and yet, it makes complete sense. Contrasting the differences of the more emotional FBI agents with the more by-the-book forensic detectives, though both are involved in personal relationships with one another, makes for a fascinating story. Both sets of characters get equal treatment, each lending their respective strengths to a case involving the disappearance of a New York college student. The author plays the characters off each other extremely well -- particularly Samantha and Amelia. An involving story that takes the strength of crime novels and crime dramas and puts them together.
