My Table.

Also, I've reposted the rec for [livejournal.com profile] somethin_random's Why Seth Cohen Was Not Meant To Have A Roommate, or Four Little Ways To Drive Seth Crazy, and the fic has been unflocked. Sorry!

Claim: The OC, Seth/Ryan
Title: Fingerprint Wounds
Author: [livejournal.com profile] 142978
Characters: Seth/Ryan
Prompt: Loss
Rating: G
Length: Short
Brief summary: This fic is like watching the pilot on fastforward and hitting play for a series of seconds. It's a *wonderful* glimpse into Seth's perspective during the events in the pilot and into Ryan leaving. It's also a great idea of how Ryan came back after he and Sandy realized that his mom abandoned him. [livejournal.com profile] 142978 paints a vivid picture in very few words - her Seth is very pensive and sensitive, and the idea that he cares so much about someone he's known for so little time and is so saddened by his departure - it's very, very plausible and bittersweet.

+ So when he sees the kid – Ryan – and his hair is blond (not greasy at all, the way Seth always expected a criminal’s hair to look), and his eyes are warm (not cold and hollow, the way Seth’s comic book villains always look when he draws them in the margins of his English notes), Seth begins to wonder why his mother tried to object to bringing the kid home in the first place.

+ When he pulls away, he feels the skin where Ryan’s just touched seem to crack and bleed, and there’s a twinge in his heart. He feels like he felt when his cousin beat him at his favorite game, like he felt when he first set eyes on Summer.

(Like a failure.)
