Brief summary: Shit has hit the fan with Aaron and his mom in this great short story about Nick and Chris. In an effort to help out his boyfriend's brother, Chris calls in the ranks to allow Aaron to have a Christmas that's still full of happiness and love and family. It doesn't go the way he planned it, but things will be okay. Aaron is hesitant and Chris is sorry and Nick thinks everything is sweet and in the end, families aren't always the people or name you're born into. This is a great story for the season, despite the hurt Aaron is going through. It's short and sweet and the interaction between Chris and Nick is very believable: Chris wants to make sure Nick's happy and Nick's grateful.
"This is Chris Kirkpatrick."
"Nick's Chris?" The accent was gone now, but there was still something soft and homey and low in Kevin's voice.
"You heard about Aaron, right?"
"Of course. I got a call from WEG when it hit the papers."
Chris made a mental note to find out how to get on that call list.

"So what did you bring me here for? You want to show me your great life, with your great family and your fabulous friends and your beautiful boyfriend who doesn't have time to be my brother anymore? 'Cause that doesn't really help with shit, Kirkpatrick." Aaron turned, walked away from Chris to a beanbag chair, but he didn't sit down on it. He stood there with his chest heaving, breathing hard.
Chris walked up behind him, put a hand on his shoulder. Aaron shrugged it off.

Howie laced their fingers together and they went upstairs, slowly because Justin kept trying to nibble at the back of Howie's neck. At the top of the stairs, Justin turned right to go into the bedroom, and walked into the wall again. "Ow. Fuck."
Are you okay?" Howie touched him with warm, concerned hands.
I'm fine," Justin said, getting his bearings and walking through the bedroom door. "Probably won't even bruise."
"No, I mean, are you okay?" Howie reached up to feel Justin's forehead. "You just walked into a wall in your own house."
