Big Damn Table.

Claim: Stargate Atlantis: Teyla
Title: Catharsis
Author:tigs([livejournal.com profile] tigs)
Characters: Teyla, Rodney
Prompt: 40 - Confession
Rating: PG-13
Length: Medium
Brief summary: I like the way Teyla and Rodney's friendship is portrayed here, and it makes sense that as they have worked together on the team, they had grown close. They can complement each other -- Teyla is nuanced and quiet, while Rodney is bold and brightly lit -- and their friendship would be a little wondrous to them both.

The first Rodney knows of it, he hears Teyla bang her fist down on her lunch tray, and he looks over in time to see her stand up from her table so quickly, with such force, that the chair slides across the floor behind her. That isn’t the end of it, though. Halling stares at her with narrowed eyes and a set mouth, hisses something at her, and the next thing Rodney knows, Teyla is storming out of the dining hall, like Rodney has very rarely seen her storm before.

Rodney looks back at Sheppard, sitting across the table from him, and the words ‘should’ and ‘go’ and ‘after’ are sitting heavy on the tip of his tongue. They’re teammates, after all, and that’s the sort of thing that teammates are supposed to *do*, he thinks, but Sheppard, apparently anticipating what Rodney is going to say, shakes his head. Short, sharp jerks, like he knows something that Rodney doesn’t. Which, given that Rodney has spent his whole morning holed up in the lab with Miko and Simpson, is entirely possible.

Title: Visiting Hours
Author: Teza([livejournal.com profile] teza)
Characters: John, Rodney, Ronon, Teyla
Prompt: 41 - Redemption
Rating: PG-13
Length: Short
Brief summary: This is a interlaced series of drabbles set around "Conversion" where Ronon, Teyla, and Rodney each get a chance to deal with their reactions to what happened to Sheppard. I like the way each of the sections portrays the person and their relationship to Sheppard, as well as how they function as a team.

“We might, uh—”

“—stay awhile—”

“Well, if that’s all right.”

“Of course.”

Beckett left them and they exchanged a look. No one seemed eager to take the first step. It was still fresh and raw: the latest iteration of the Pegasus’s Galaxy’s vendetta against them all.

They each took a step at the same time. “Oh, for—” Rodney rolled his eyes. “No offense, but I’ll be very glad to spend a night on my own, sleeping. This hive mind thing is getting a little creepy.”

“I agree,” Teyla said with a small smile. Ronon and Rodney let her pass first; Rodney followed and Ronon came last. It was easy to fall into the habits of the field.
