Brief summary: There is something so sad about this fic -- Jack going to visit Samantha after she's transferred, after she's married, but after a crisis. The author pinpoints each character's vulnerability, and both their familiar uneasiness with and lingering feelings for each other. The characters don't end up together, but you don't expect that. It's an ending that makes a lot of sense, based on what we've seen of the characters in the series -- almost reassuring in the idea that while they'll never be together, they'll also never really be apart.
