Brief summary: At first glance this story seems to fit the prompt Kink perfectly, but you soon realize this story isn't about kinky sex at all (even if there is slightly kinky sex in it) but about who Lance really is and what he needs. Can Chris give it to him and does he want to? Is Lance capable of letting Chris give it? A masterful character study of a person who isn't at all what he appear to be on the surface.

Chris put his hand on the nape of Lance's neck, covering it with his hand that was smaller than Joey's, but still so warm.

And Lance bent.

Let his head roll forward in familiar, learned response, and hoped to god Chris knew what he was doing, because if Chris dropped him now, Lance would shatter and there was no way Chris was Joey, with Joey's easy, friendly admonitions for Lance to take care of himself interposed with touches that branded Lance's skin.

Lance peels at the label of his bottle and wonders idly why Nick Carter has to be so damned nice. Childhood like his, mother like that, he has every right to be an obnoxious asshole. Then Lance thinks about the other four guys who were sort of fundamental during his growing years and sighs, because it's kind of hard to be a total dick when you've got a built-in family system comprised of guys with no qualms about smacking your ass down.
