Claim: Inception, Arthur/Eames
Title: "small scenes"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] pyrimidine
Prompt: 46. Reccer's Choice.
Rating: R
Length: long
Brief summary: This is my headcanon characterization of Eames, that he's a new person every time you see him. I also enjoy the idea that Arthur can't help but want him, no matter what he looks like.

An embarrassing wave of attraction hits Arthur as soon as he sees the new guy, despite the fact that his blondish hair looks like it's been washed with saltwater. Yes, he's also wearing cargo shorts, but his legs are lean and tanned and Arthur's always had a soft spot for that little dip where calf meets ankle.

Then new guy turns around and says, "Hello. It's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Excuse me?" Arthur asks after a pause.

New guy's full-bodied smile is horribly, naggingly familiar. "Come now, it wasn't that bad."

"What," Arthur starts, but stops when his mental Rolodex snags on Eames. An Eames that looks completely different than the one standing in front of him now, save for the smile and the scar bisecting his eyebrow.

"Hello," Eames says again.

“You look different,” says Arthur. It doesn't sound as confused as he feels, which is good.

Eames rubs a hand over the back of his head. “Yeah,” he says, sheepish. “That tends to happen.”
