two more Merlin/Arthur recs: "Communications in Binary" and "Drawing Back the Curtain"

Sorry for two back-to-back posts. I just realized that I forgot to crosspost my recs from yesterday.

Here is my table.

Brief summary: This story follows a year in the life of a lovable, slightly OCD Arthur as he moves out of his father's house and into the university residences. His new roommate, Merlin Emrys, is a cheerful, messy computer geek who turns Arthur's world upside down in more ways than one. Their developing romance is slow and sweet, but it's equally matched by Arthur and Morgana's almost co-dependent sibling protectiveness and Gwen's grounded cheerfulness.

Arthur knew he would have been able to handle an alcoholic, even if coming home and finding vomit on the carpet became a daily occurrence. He knew he’d be able to deal with a nymphomaniac – or well, the male equivalent – as long as they developed a communication system that told Arthur not to enter the room while the risk of being exposed to very traumatizing sexual acts was high. What he could not tolerate, in any way, was Merlin Emrys.

Even if the mess of Merlin’s clothes all over the floor (did he even use the other three drawers he’d been given?) and the pages and pages of notes all over the desk, and the tangle of video game controller cords that leaked out of the top drawer and snagged at Arthur every time he walked by, even if none of these things existed, Merlin would still be too much to handle.

Brief summary: Arthur and Merlin invite Morgana to their bed. shinetheway does a great job capturing all three characters, and the sex is on fire. One of my biggest kinks is M/F (or in this case, M/M/F) fics that don't include PIV intercourse, and this is one of the best I've found.

Merlin is the one who leans down next to her chair at supper with his circumspectly worded message, but she happened to glance across the table to Arthur, who was watching her carefully, and she knows where the idea came from. Just for that, she has the urge to refuse--the last thing Arthur needs is a sop to his ego--but something about the cautious way he watches her makes her hesitate.

When she finally jerks her head down slightly in a nod, Arthur looks away, but there's a new tension in the set of his shoulders. Morgana briefly worries about her agreement, but really she lives to make Arthur nervous, so it's no real decision to come to his door and knock.
