Brief summary: House remembers a better time; Wilson remembers a better House. The idea of Wilson thinking back to a time when House was genuinely happy is just so sad and so powerfully simple. The really brilliant thing about this is that the younger, more hopeful House of the memories feels completely authentic and in-character with the House we know and love, even though the two are so different. It's short and sweet and really does a great job of highlighting just how much House has lost, and how much the reality of that pains Wilson. Also extra points for great use of Death Cab For Cutie.

Every once in a while, Gregory House forgot himself. Wilson enjoyed catching him during those moments. It usually happened when House wasn’t aware anyone was around. He simply forgot his self-appointed place in the world, and it was during those momentary lapses of time that Wilson got a glimpse of a man he’d known once upon a time. Once upon a time.
