Both the boys are fantastically characterized, with Mickey absolutely bemused by the Doctor's short attention span, and the inclusion of copious amounts of Old School canon makes me squee with delight. For everyone who ever wondered what became of all the Companions who parted ways with the Doctor. (Note: Has been slightly jossed by School Reunion, but is still more than worth the read.)
