Brief summary: This will always be one of my favorite stories, it is long, dark, uncompromising and oddly clinical. We enter Michael's brain and accompany him on his journey to find Lincoln. It's not a romantic story by any means and for that I love it.

The whole while David Winters didn't stop talking. "Never quite understood that particular kink, y'know? Mean, I'm into a whole shit load o' fucked up shit, but that's outta the ballpark, y'know? Fuck, I keep repeatin' myself, don't I?" His hand tightened on Michael's knee hard enough to get the point across. Some point. Something. "Fucked up... pills, always doin' shit like that. Gotta stop takin' 'em or somethin'. Take somethin' with 'em maybe... ah, fuck, I can't think straight, can I? Like I got some kinda shit in my brain or somethin'. Fuck that. You ready to see your big bad brother all up in chains?"

All up in chains.

Michael swung around slightly and stared at him wildly. It was one of those moments where things paused for a split second before crashing back into motion again. Like a violent train crash you couldn't stop from happening, but it all occurred in freeze frame anyway just to mock you.
