Claim: BtVS: Xander Harris
Title: Here's the Thing
Author: The Mad Poetess
Characters: Xander/Illyria
Prompt: Reccer's Choice
Rating: PG-13
Length: Short
Brief summary: This is, without a doubt, one of the most bizarre pairings I've ever read. But the way it's written, this makes sense. Which sounds crazy, I know, but seriously, just try it.

Claim: BtVS: Xander Harris
Title: Esperanza
Author: Silvia Kundera
Characters: Xander/Buffy
Prompt: Reccer's Choice
Rating:
Length: Medium
Brief summary: This is a Buffy story that feels (deliberately) like The House on Mango Street. It shouldn't work, but it does, with more grace than you would ever expect. It's Xander, in glimpses and so very much in love.
You want to dance with her, and you can picture it in your head. Her fingers rest on her belly and she drags them up, unconsciously. The fingers skate along her arms, and she's so in love with herself, as much as you are, and it's like crouching in the eye of a storm.
