Brief summary: AU. If Scott had been a little quicker on the uptake, X2 might have gone more like this. After an impromptu prison break, the X-Men, Magneto, and Mystique try to work together without anyone falling apart.  A fabulously written alternate take on the second movie.  Penknife has a solid grasp on all of the characters.  I especially like how she's made it plausible that both groups of mutants would work together when faced with a common goal.  This is listed as gen, but Xavier/Eric becomes important halfway through the story.
