Surrender, Over the Years

Claim: *N Sync: Chris/Joey
Title: Surrender
Author: Cherry
Characters: Chris, Joey, Justin, JC, Lance
Prompt: 05. Sex
Rating: R
Length: Short
Brief summary: Joey is a slut who will sleep with everyone in the group. After all, it’s just sex. But for Chris, it really isn’t just sex and no matter how much he tries to convince himself otherwise, he’s getting ready to be really hurt. While it doesn’t delve enough in Joey’s thoughts which make Joey come out as a bit of a jerk, it’s a very well written fic with a bitter sweet conclusion that should really be in every ‘must read’ list.
He didn't want to look at them in the elevator the next morning, JC looking sated and soft, Joey smiling and calm, his hand resting on the small of JC's back. Chris stared at the elevator doors until they opened, pretending not to see Joey's hand squeezing JC's briefly as they stepped out, or the quiet smile that passed between them.
He retreated, scowling, to his bunk on the bus. But he wasn't tired, couldn't sleep, and he knew he couldn't avoid JC forever. He sighed heavily and climbed out of his bunk, crashing right into JC.
"Oof. Sorry." JC smiled and tried edging past Chris in the cramped hallway. Chris grabbed his wrist as he passed.
"I." He swallowed and blinked quickly, unsure of what to say. "I saw you and Joey last night." He hadn't meant it to sound so accusatory.
JC shrugged. "We were just goofing off. Killing time." His smile wavered when Chris didn't let him go. "Chris, I told you, man. It doesn't mean anything." He yanked his arm free and wandered off to the kitchen, shaking his head.
Maybe not to you, Chris thought, and climbed back into his bunk.

Title: Over the Years
Author: Terri [livejournal.com profile] turps33
Characters: Chris, Joey.
Prompt: 38. Kiss
Rating: PG
Length: Short
Brief summary: Four kisses, that pretty much sum up Chris and Joey’s relationship. Short, sweet and to the point, I’ll freely admit that I melt somewhere between kiss 2 and kiss 3. The narration flows like a fairytale, which makes it even more sweet to read.

They kissed again months later, when life was uncertain and Chris could hardly sleep at night for doubts. Everything was too much, and Chris compensated by being the same. Too loud, too crazy, too hyper. When he was yelling or jumping or joking he didn´t have to think about how easily things could go wrong. Worries like that were kept for the nights, when Chris would sit in the darkness trying to push away doubts that seemed like solid things designed to crush him.
