Claim: due South, Fraser/Kowalski
Title: A Fine Romance
Author: Sihaya Black and Chickwriter
Characters: Fraser, Ray, the gang
Prompt: 30. Seduction
Rating: NC-17
Length: long
Brief summary: This was one of the very first due South fics I read. I love fics where one of the guys is completely clueless. Ray thinks that Fraser is “courting” a girl Mountie in town for a conference but he is so very very wrong. I love Ray in this, so paranoid and so devastated because he thinks he’s going to lose Fraser, and I love romantic!Fraser.

“If I might ask you a question first, Ray.”

“Fire away.” I grab a pen from the drawer and start sorting through the stuff in my inbox.

“If I were to say the word courtship, how would you respond?”

The pen slips from my fingers and I look at him. “Courtship?”

“Yes.” He tugs at his collar. Damn. He’s serious, all right. “If you wished to court someone, how would you go about it?”

“Depends on the woman, I guess.” I don’t want to talk about this, but he gives me that wide-eyed, Bambi look and I have to suck it up and help him out. “I mean, some women are impressed by expensive presents – jewelry and stuff. But I think going for the personal is your best bet. If you were a betting man, that is.”

I wait for him to take the bait and run with it – our usual back-and-forth – but instead Fraser’s eyebrows draw together. “What do you mean by going for the personal?”

My heart does a back flip. Damn. This Blair chick’s obviously important to him, and it looks like he’s planning out his future. One that doesn’t include me. Shit. I was expecting this sometime or other. We’re partners, but it’s not like we’re joined at the hip or anything. Partnership’s not like a marriage, after all.

Did I just think marriage? Okay. This is getting out of hand. Back to courting. “Finding out what kind of flowers she likes, and candy, and perfume. That sort of thing. Taking her out for a romantic meal, with her favorite foods and wine. Dressing up, making an effort.”

“Ah.” He nods and the frown disappears. “Your suggestions accord with my own thoughts on the matter.”

“Yeah, well, that’s good, Fraser. Now, can we get back to work?”

Title: Northwest Passage
Author: Crysothemis, on LJ [livejournal.com profile] crysothemis
Characters: Fraser, Ray
Prompt: 28. Dream
Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Brief summary: This is a post-COTW fic that starts with Ray having a…umm…wet dream about Fraser, that Fraser misunderstands. A whole lot of misunderstanding and hotness ensues. Ray realizes that he wants to BE with Fraser, but the two just can’t seem to communicate. I admit a very large soft spot for post-COTW Ray and Fraser in zipped together sleeping bags and snuggling fic, because it so easily lends itself to Ray and Fraser in zipped together sleeping bags having SEX. So, yeah.

He didn't know. Didn't realize the dream had been about him. Ray felt part of the knot in his stomach ease. It was just like that time on the Henry Anderson, or rather, Allen. When Fraser had done that "buddy breathing" thing and thought it was perfectly normal, something guys did to each other all the time.

Obviously, Fraser had a pretty weird idea of what "normal" meant.

"Would you like some breakfast?" Fraser was asking, like this was a normal morning, too.

Ray shook his head, but to clear it, not to say no. "Yeah, okay, sure," he said.

And why not? If Fraser wanted to act like things were normal, well, he could try that. It was certainly a heck of a lot better than trying to explain himself, especially since he didn't have an explanation. He took the tin cup full of oatmeal from Fraser's gloved hands. It was warm, anyway. In weather like this, you started to like anything that was warm, no matter whether you ordinarily would have cared for it or not.
