My big Choey Table
Claim: *N Sync: Chris/Joey
Title: The Animal Kingdom
Author:
tnl
Characters: Chris, Joey, Lance, Justin, JC
Prompt: 15. Crack!Fic
Rating: PG
Length: Long (2 parts)
Brief summary: There is an unwritten rule that every single boyband member must turn into something in a fic, usually, a girl. However, TNL took that concept, spin it around and here it is, Joey as a horse, Chris as a dog. And despite the inherent silliness of that premise, The Animal Kingdom makes their relationship, and the changes, work. Still, it’s crack!fic, because, really? A horse and a dog. And they talk. But it works, and it works very well.
“Holy shit,” Chris whispered. “It’s Joey.”
Lance turned in surprise. “How did you do that?”
“There,” Chris replied, pointing. “Joey’s tattoo.” And, there, where Joey-the-horse’s ankle might be, faint through his bay coat, was the blue and red and yellow of Joey’s Superman tattoo.
“Wait a minute!” JC cried. “You’re saying that that’s. . . That’s. . .”
“Hey,” the horse said, and Justin squealed. “It’s OK, J,” Joey added. “It’s me.”
“No fucking way. Where’s he hiding?”
“JC,” Joey sighed. “I’m Joey. I’ve turned into a horse. Try to deal with it.”
“Here, boy,” Chris said, approaching the horse tentatively. Joey’s ears went back, automatically, then forward, leaning into Chris’ gentle touch.
“Don’t call me boy, OK? Rule number 1.”

Author: Squickgrrl
Characters: Chris, Joey, JC.
Prompt: 12. Humor
Rating: G.
Length: Short.
Brief summary: Did I mention that the ‘turn into something’ fics were a bit of a cliché? Because here’s another. This time the victim is JC, who turns into a cat, but this fic doesn’t fit the fandom cliché prompt because it’s not about JC, but about Joey –who, for varied reasons ends up taking care of him- and Chris. It’s funny, it’s short, and even when it does feel that JC turned into a cat for no reason, it’s one of those fics that make you go ‘AWWW’ (Because, really? JC as a kitten is adorable. The few parts done on JC’s POV will kill you with sweeteness)
"Ummm...that's it?" Chris had left the morning after the party for a FuMan thing in LA and this was the first time he had seen JC as a kitten. Joey had expected a little more of a reaction.
"That's what?"
"You're not gonna, I dunno, freak out or tell me I'm nuts or...anything?" Which had been the reaction Joey had gotten from Kelly when he told her. She wasn't too pleased when she had to move out because of her allergies, but Lance was allergic, too, so he couldn't take JC and Justin...Justin wasn't exactly the most reliable person when it came to caring for small animals. Joey still shuddered to think of the poor hamsters Justin had gotten for his sixteenth birthday. That had left either him or Chris to take care of the kitten, and previous experience had taught them that Busta didn't get along with cats.
Chris shrugged and leaned back into the sofa. He looked down at the kitten and gave a small smile. "Well, it's not like kitten-JC would be any different from human-JC." He counted off on his fingers. "Sleeps all the time, curls up on everyone, acts all spacey, distracted by shiny objects. If we could get him to sing, no one would ever notice the difference.
