Claim: Nsync: Lance Bass
Title: My Boyfriend's Back

Characters: Lance, Chris, the rest of Nsync, Wilmer Valderrama, Paris Hilton
Prompt: 37 Make-up
Rating: explicit sex
Length: medium/long
Brief summary: A story about Chris and Lance's renewed attempt to get together, and this time perhaps avoid the usual spectacular breakup. In a desperate attempt to avoid any more disasters such as the mohawk and the nose job, and to ensure that he won't still be working on the Nsync reunion record when he's 30, Justin decides that their fellow bandmembers must lend a hand this time. This story is at once funny, serious, and sweet. It's deceptively simple on the surface, but a closer look reveals asides and details that gives it resonance and depth. The characterizations are sharply drawn, and the central story about Chris and Lance's long-drawn-out mating dance over the whole of Nsync's career rings wonderfully true.

"Where's Lance?" Chris danced across the small space of floor in front of the scruffy couch and after a minute or two, Joey recognized the choreography from 'I Want You Back'. He immediately started going through the steps in his head as if it were nine years ago and they were waiting backstage at TRL. There were some reflexes he just couldn't control.

Joey eyed Chris thoughtfully, debating whether or not to tell him where Lance was. Chris either wanted Lance's help in thinking up ways to annoy Justin, or else he was horny and looking to drag Lance away for a quickie. Either way meant a disruption in the recording process and Joey decided he was down with that.

"He's in the bathroom," Joey answered, and Chris' eyes lit up with anticipation and lust. Well, that answered that question. Joey found it a bit disturbing that he knew what lust looked like on Chris' face. Maybe the hiatus hadn't been long enough after all.

Title: Backwards
Author: Rhys, at Experiment V and [livejournal.com profile] rhyssj
Characters: Lance, Chris, the rest of Nsync, Diane Bass
Prompt: 39 Break-up
Rating: NC-17
Length: medium
Brief summary: They begin by fucking, then they break up. After that they argue and snark, and break up again. Then they start dating. I love this story of Lance and Chris and their dysfunctional way to start a relationship. Rhys has written so many exceptional stories, and while this isn't one of her major works it's still incredibly funny and the characterization is spot-on as usual.

It turned out, of course, that Lance had commitment issues worse than Chris had commitment issues. Lance wanted to stay on buddyfucking terms because he didn't want things to change, and Chris felt that if he was going to put out, he might as well get a boyfriend out of it.

"We're really not compatible," Lance said.

"You just don't want to be my boyfriend," Chris said, pouting on the couch.

"I really think we'd kill each other, is all," Lance replied, sighing, and Chris wanted to punch him, or fuck him, or have Lance fuck him, whatever. "And, like. Honestly, Chris. We're just buddyfucking, you know? You're making more of this than it is."

"You're a pussy," Chris snapped, "I'm going home."

"Fine," Lance said, neutral.

"Fine!"

Chris stomped out of the house like a fucking teenage girl.
